Artist New to Social Marketing

Recently I've been thinking about using my social media to get exposure and build a follower base to make money. I'm an artist and I'm looking to eventually start my own animation studio. I'm planing on using follower/liker to build up my followers while posting my artwork, animations, and additionally shirt designs to sell. Does anyone have any advice or suggestions for me?
