Hi :) I am amazed at all the wisdom on this site and I need some advice please. So appreciated for anything anyone has

I do music. Im thinking possible that paid Facebook ads, and heavy interaction on FB, is better for gaining a fan base than mass follow on Twitter/Insta

Any thoughts here about how to do an artist FB page properly? Maybe advice on how to make viral videos? I am going to start reading threads here now

FB isn't good. I've grown many facebook pages only to see their posts reach no one because Facebook wants to be paid to show your posts to your followers.
I recommend be like https://www.reddit.com/user/Shitty_Watercolour/ he is famous on reddit for posting art work. He also has his own website/tumblr blog where he posts art work. I would recommend you just start posting your work on r/art and other niche subreddits.
If you need some help just pm me and I'll try and help
Edit: Oh yeah and he has a big youtube account, twitter account and instagram account
    He's built a community

Thanks a lot! I'll look at that now.

How much do they charge for posts to be reached? And does buying impressions help grow the page?

    Are you talking about Facebook?
Unless youre selling a product and you have good roi i recommend you dont spend money on anything to promote yourself let alone facebook impressions.
Just post on reddit and if your art is good enough you'll get great exposure

Sorry I should've clarified more - I sing - does that make a difference? I haven't tried Reddit but I will - I think SoundCloud is good too

FB use to be good until (as Turhan stated) they started wanted to be paid just for your post to reach people who already follow you.

I have a friend who is also an artist although he does more electronic stuff with his own vocals. He has since put all his stuff on Spotify and has amassed a huge following through that alone. So i would recommend the same route for you. Look at posting Youtube videos of your songs, you dont need a video with hot chicks running around per say, just some sort of graphic in the background, your music being the important addition. Then use the likes of twitter, soundcloud etc to advertise your music.

You can also look at Fiverr for gigs, where bloggers will post your music to their music blog etc.

Essentially you want your music to go 'viral' and be shared amongst your potential fans, you will also want a location in which all your music is stored (such as a website, social platform) for those same fans to navigate to in order to listen to more of your music and again share!....if that isnt too confusing!

I am by no means an expert and there is a ton on people on this site who will be more clued up as to how to develop this, but i hope this gives you an idea :)

One more question - if I used impressions buying to get followers then paid FB to reach the fans - but just for ad for a video - would that be worth the money?

I'd use lots of other platforms too - including Spotify and SoundCloud

Facebook can be good only cause there's a lot of people on that platform - downside is that they are hard to reach, way harder than let's say Instagram. If you're an artist, then a picture based platform would be the best for spreading your work.
