Okay so I've recently wanted to get into article marketing, mainly as a way to get my blog a decent following. I think I've already made one big mistake, I have five articles on my site & I copied three of them & posted them to ezine & blogspot stating my site as the source, I also didn't do seo on the articles or check the keyword density. How badly could this negatively affect my rankings as well as the blogspot & ezine traffic? Also I'm getting around 22 articles next week & I was wondering if anyone could give me some decent advice on what would be the best thing to do with these, post them to my blog? or spin them & submit them to tons of article websites? what would help my site the most?

Just copy articles from ezine , Spin them and post to your blog and ezine articles.

They will be different and i have around 45 articles on ezine by doing this and no problems so far.

my suggestion is take the articles you get to another directory. Article base, bukisa, hubpages are good. bukisa pay better but you have to build the traffic yourself.

Personally I would post them all to my blog, drip them over 2-3 weeks

As they are posted spin them and then use those spins to post to article directories

Ezinearticles obviously and articlebase too, not for the direct stuff from them but because most autoblogs use AB for content it is a good way to get extra backlinks, mainly because all these whitehat gurus are teaching their students to be nice and leave al the links in

Post them on your blog first and wait for them to get indexed on your site before you submit them anywhere else. This will ensure that when you submit them to ezine or anywhere else, that Google knows that your site has the original.

Duplicate content and being ranked poorly in search engines is mostly a belief system. A lot of SEO is belief, some of it is confirmed, but there is no way to compare 2 EXACT sites, 1 with duplicate and 1 with unique, because something always has to be different, including the domain, and the article will be complete different. It's REALLY hard to explain, you must try and see what works, you will figure out what you believe in. I know several that swear by auto blogs and several that say they are a waste of time. I am not saying your talking about autoblogs, but talking about dup content.

I wouldn't worry about the articles you already posted to your site. Just keep posting to article sites.
Richlondon brought up something I didn't think about before and that is articlebase is used by autobloggers to add content. WPRobot gets their articles from them so this is definitely a good one to post to.

Here is a list of do-follow article directories that you can submit to.

Thanks for the advice everyone, I'm going to look more into drip feeding
& doing drip feed blasts & I think I'm going to spin half of all the articles I get after they're all indexed on my site, then submit them all to directories & blast the article directory links to the articles & see what happens, though I'm worried I'll get less traffic & lose money then if I just promote traffic to my blog itself. any thoughts?

Just add a link to your blog into the article.
& submit to article directories, if they accept the article. voila, you have a backlink.
