    Article Marketing for Traffic

Our first important strategy is to do article marketing in order to get more traffic to our website.
In this strategy, your main goal is to increase the traffic to your site by writing and publishing articles.

There are 3 pillars to this article marketing traffic strategy that you should focus on and these are the following:

    1. Writing high quality articles
    2. Publishing them on a variety of websites
    3. Bookmarking your articles
    4. Getting your articles ranked in the search engines

Now we?ll discover how we can apply these 3 pillars of a successful article marketing traffic strategy.

    1. Writing high quality articles

Quality content means more people reading the article until the end, more click throughs to your website and thus more traffic. It also means that your article will be re-published on more websites, bookmarked, linked to from blogs or other sites, increasing the exposure and the number of visitors to your site.

What is a good quality article vs a poorly written one?

To keep it simple, a high quality article gives VALUE to the reader and/or SOLVES the reader?s PROBLEM.

If the article does neither the former nor the latter, then it is a poor article.

Side note, a poor article is not a poorly written article, there are many articles out there that are not very well written but that really give value to their readers and attract a high number of visitors to the site they are promoting.

A poor article is an article that has poor content, poor information, and adds no value.
A good article adds value and/or solves people?s problems. This is why ?How To? or ?3 Tips? or ?3 Ways To? article types usually work great, because they give people a solution to their problem.

    2. Publishing articles on a variety of websites.

The principle of traditional article marketing is that you submit your article to article directories with giving visitors the right to republish the article for free with a link back to your website.

Most article marketers write articles and submit them to article directories and here is where they stop their article marketing efforts.
Submitting your articles ONLY to article directories worked very well years ago, but it will not give you great results anymore. Quite frankly, in my experience, and especially if your niche has a little bit of competition, you will need to do much more to get your website ranked on page one.

The good news is that there is infinity of websites, and this should not be overlooked when doing article marketing.
Of course you should take advantage of article directories, but again, if you submit to article directories only, you are limiting your exposure and the potential traffic to your site.

If you master pillar 1, which is writing high quality articles, you?ll have a higher probability that your articles get re-published on many different websites, including many blogs. And this happens automatically.

This is why you?ll want to make article submissions to as many quality article directories as possible, which will give you a double benefit: direct traffic from the readers of these directories, and your articles re-published on other sites that attract your target audience.

However, whenever possible, do not forget blog networks, wikis, web 2.0 properties, social networks, and ezines.

And if you are really serious about article marketing, you should also make sure not to overlook submission and distribution services.
These services have access to many websites and can give you the opportunity to get articles published on sites like about.com, specific sites related to your niche that attract your audience, or ezines. These services can be a great way to increase website traffic and generate more profit.

    3. Bookmarking your website
There are several bookmarking websites out there you use to bookmark the content of your website. This not only increases your traffic but also aides ranking of your website. Below are some bookmarking website you might want to register with. Please bear in mind that the more you join, the more backlinks you have to your website.

    drillit.cz.cc
    digg.com
    reddit.com
    stumbleupon.com

These are the major ones you need to join in order to start up.

    3. Getting your articles ranked in the search engines.

There are two possibilities when you publish an article. The article can either get lost in the internet ocean, or it can rank on the first page of Google search results. I bet you?ll prefer option 2, and there are techniques that will help you reach this goal.

An article that appears high in the rankings (and stays there) means pure gold because it will provide free traffic on auto-pilot. If you manage to get your articles ranked in the major search engines, you?ll have more readers of your articles and thus more website visitors.

This is why getting your articles ranked should be a priority if your main goal is to drive more free traffic to a website. And this means writing articles following some solid basic SEO principles.

Article marketing for traffic means writing quality articles that will drive people to your website, publishing these articles to many websites and a large variety of them, and making sure the articles can rank high in Google by applying some solid SEO article writing techniques.

I will updates on this later.
