I've been told by this whitehatter that article directories are the 'lowest of the low' and that I should only submit to ezine for the chance of syndication rather than for the linkjuice.

They told me article directories are way worse than forum or blog commenting.

So is this true? What sort of mileage have ppl gotten out of mass article directory submission, linkjuice wise?

I know alot of you do it with things like magic submitter and AMR? so you must be getting something from it right?

Contrary to what this person said I think looking back at my SERP increases I've had some of my best gains just from submitting to Ezine alone (can't say for sure but I am interested enough to investigate more). So I'm thinking submitting to a few more would be worth a shot.

yes, they are; in fact, the infamous Panda update rendered all links useless

remove all links and take your site offline
    then wait
    then collect all yoour money
    wash and repeat
    you can't fail
    realy
    I mean it

Why do you listen to whitehatters in the first place?
Eventually, article directories are web pages... the quality of the articles that you submit is an important factor of the value that they will give you.

In addition you can help these pages to gain more value by making sure they are indexed, bookmarking them...

Bottom line - don't listen to whitehatters, they usually mean well but they are wrong!

You gotta submit to 1000 more. Whoever told you article links don't work doesn't know shit. A day or two after mass article blast with AMR backlinks start to appear in Market Samurai.

You just said you've seen good results so keep it up. Any link counts. If the context is related to your page even better. If you can use automation it's perfect. I do it manualy because i own a piece of crap.

My advice: Read - extract - test.

Ye, I'll give it a go then.

Worth a try since I am waiting for my xrumer and SB blasts to go through anyhow.

With article subs is it ok to link those to money site or is it still better to link them to web2.0 buffer?

Better do a new post for that.

The reason people submit articles to Ezine and other "quality" directories is to get their article syndicated, i.e., ripped by other webmasters for their websites thus gaining more links than Ezine alone in the process. By submitting an article to other lower quality directories, you are simulating this effect. By the way, these ripped articles are directly linking to your website if your original article was.

I'm getting good results from these directories, but I don't blast. I submit the original article to Ezine then spin well, and drip submit to others at say 10-20 a day. Slow and steady wins the race...

Who cares what people say. It's easy to write, spin, and submit 1000s of articles in about 20-30 minutes of total time.

This ALONE has helped me get ranked for exact matches of 3000+ phrases without any other types of backlinks from just a few blasted articles which is really only a couple hours of overall work.

I would still submit articles cause I have found many to be syndicated to other sites sometimes getting as high as PR 4 links really boosting rankings.

I would never give up this strategy.

Search for the keyword that you want to rank for on G. Go to the site that ranks #1. You want a link back to your site from them in the main body of content with the search term you used as the anchor text.
