Are you under the influence? What substance are you trying to kick?

These days it seems like almost everyone has a habit/substance that they are under the influence which can range from marijuana to cocaine...

If you are currently a user what substance are you under the influence of and hopefully trying to kick.

Beginning of this year I kicked marijuana and it has been almost a year without even a faint thought about smoking again... unfortunately I still take Roxicodone on a regular basis which I am currently trying to kick so I can save some money for other ventures. My current addiction may be the most expensive one around these days compared to hard drugs but the only reason I do so is because it relieves pain from a car accident on top of giving me long lasting motivation to sit on the computer and research and freelance.

So since I knocked on the N/A door... what are you trying to kick or wish you could kick...

Been trying to kick my krabs to the curb for years now. They just won't leave me alone.

I am under the influence that I am living in the virtual world all the time:(. When I open my eyes in the morning, I feel that I am stuck on level 8 of some game, and am again entering a floor with unlimited number of zombies outside my window who are trying to run in all directions away from sunlight and fresh air, and into the world of cement and PCs, demanding bosses and jealous colleagues... as the Sun rises so does the smog... as if all wild animials are storming the city space to eat away at anything that are still living peacefully. It's the so-called super advanced civilization and new-gen development terribly gone awry that I am trying to get out of my system in a hurry. Must find a way to get back, actually wake up again, into the good old 1970s sooner than later -- and stay there forever.

Opiates do exist and unfortunately the monster has me as of now... stay strong and keep doing what you are doing if you have pretty much completely kicked the habit.

I currently overindulge in or should I say, became a victim of procrastination and over-sleeping. Both are very hard to kick, especially if you've become addicted to such a lifestyle. I am slowly making steps towards improving my life for the better, though I can't help but worry about the time I've wasted due to this extremely demoralizing addiction.

    Well...

    This year I kicked:

    Marijuana
    Alcohol
Meat, for the most part (except fish)

And the meat is not weight-related. I'm actually extremely skinny. Something which is not exactly a good thing...

And until the end of the year I'll be finishing off some coffee I have and some chocolates I was given as a present recently.

And I'll enter 2015 having kicked Coffee and White Sugar.

Also, I guess throughout 2015 I'll be figuring out how to make my own soap, body wash and shampoo, to kick those chemicals. Because when I make my own I will know exactly what's in those products, and they will be organic.

And also start cleaning the house with All-natural ingredients; like lemon, vinegar, baking soda, etc. To kick those nasty chemicals too.

    Lastly, start exercising.

Good thread, got to sum it all up. :)

Kicked weed for 1 year now, after smoking for 5 years+ daily. The mental clarity is amazing.

I'm a hell of a procrastinator too, thanks to a fair amount of passive income and complete freedom. Need to work on that.

Espresso coffee and Ocean Spray Cran-Grape juice for me, but I see
no need to kick them, since they are relatively harmless in comparison. :)

I have had friends (and even a nephew) who got hooked on opiates.
Fortunately, my nephew finally got his priorities straight and has been
clean for over two years now. One of my friends died from an OD of
opiates . . . Very nasty and extremely addictive drugs.

If you are inclined to get drunk every night, I would have to disagree. Contrary to
what you said, your urge to drink is likely to INCREASE rather than dissipate if
you continue on the path you are currently on.

Life is all about choices and we all have to live with and deal with the consequences
of the choices we make. Make healthy choices and the consequences are likely to
be beneficial. Make unhealthy choices, and the results are likely to lead you on a
    downward spiral . . . Your choice.

Weed. However, I do occasionally take 2-3 day breaks, but it's definitely a daily thing lol.

Doesn't look healthy? Because it isn't - I think my heart stops every now and then - I drink up to 10 of these fuckers per day - I just can't stop it.
Its some kind of foodreplacement to keep me going (sugarinjection) when my GF cooked shit, I'm too lazy to prepare some and even too lazy to order pizza.
