We know how McCain and Bush love wars. So how soon if/when/ you think it will happen with all this shit going on in Russia.

Im sure you all know how close Bush is to Georgia and others.

What do you think will happen ?

Im sure you americans hate war but im sure it could happen

I don't understand, and never will, why we all can't just live together in peace.
Respect each others customs, religious preferences, etc. and leave everyone alone to practice such.
Who starts these wars anyway, it's not the people for the most part, we need to start respecting one another.

    My 2 cents.

I can't believe the mindset of the people in charge of this country... This is the crap that happens when war becomes profitable. Eisenhower warned us in his farewell address....

I love this country, but I am scared to death of the people in charge.

BTW, if you are interested in the Military Industrial Complex, check out the dvd "Why We Fight." Very infotaining.

As far as I am concerned, let the Russians and the Georgians fight it out.

    Not my problem.

It's all part of a centuries old dispute that pre-dates the Revolution.

I suppose that that international joke, otherwise known as the United Nations, could be called upon and it would send in emissaries and "peacekeepers" who would then get kidnapped and held hostage as has happened in the past.

Looking at it realistically, the thing is an internal conflict and Bush and McCain have nothing to do with it.

Who is going to do anything about it?

    No one.

The USA should not and is overextended anyway, the UK isn't going to intervene and that dickless wonder of the UN hasn't the power of an old, worn out Trabant.

France and Germany will do nothing as they don't care much for either side and the Chinese don't want to lose all the Brownie Points that they just got from the Olympics.

The situation is what it is and will burn itself out, one way or another.

Ditto to uptowns commentary on this matter. It will likely diffuse itself. Unless that dumbass mcain gets in office. But fuckall, he wants a 100 year occupation of Iraq. So were kind of fucked either way if he gets in the big office.

I believe they will just let russia do as they please as Georgia as far as i know if not a part of NATO, even if it was wouldnt matter.

The next world war will be something valuable like oil, things like this and that will be the reason to kick start it. This is just a little conflict IMHO and nobody will say nothing to russia

    Generalizations........

The dude spent YEARS as a POW, being tortured daily, so I really don't think
that he either wants "a hundred year war" or is "war crazy", damn dude, where did you get that from?

See, it is this kind of crap that I just can't stand to see posted as fact. Do you even know what his entire statement was? Did he say, "Yeah man.....I want a hundred year war"????

I heard the statement and that is NOT what he said. It would be that same thing as misquoting Obama..........let's be sure of what we continue to perpetuate as actual fact.

Being a politician is tough.........it would irritate me to no end to be misquoted or even lied about......

I did a newspaper interview one time, and when I saw the article that I was in...........I thought "what the hell"??? I know that I did not say what she printed.......talk about "artistic license"!

Whether I like McCain or Obama or not.......I hope that people will stick with true facts, not misrepresentations..........

So, please stick to facts as facts, and offer opinions as such......otherwise the whole thread deteriorates into a huge mess and name-calling and so on.......counterproductive and not helpful to the discussion.

Someone said, "Why can't we live in peace?"

Well when the people really running America make tons of money off wars, the answer is simple. Peace isn't an answer for them as they make a shit ton of money off wars.

Whatever candidate is elected there will be wars. Even Obama is flipping on his past proposal of pulling troops out of Iraq, what a joke that guy is. Just another shit politician to add to the list.

And yes, McCain did say something along the lines of not caring if we stay in Iraq for another 100 years. This moron considered the cold war to be WWIII. You think he isn't a little bitter about that whole thing? If you think McCain would make a good president I would call you crazy, but Obama will do no better.

Neither of these idiots realize that these wars are just fucking our economy worse by the day. Alternative energy? Yah right, neither of these idiots will lower gas prices thats for damn sure. Sure they may say some shit to get elected, but once in... forget it.

There is really no difference between most politicians and common criminals, except common criminals are held accountable for their actions.

Presidents are simply pawns, they don't make the decisions in America.

Iraq attacks the US, US spends 7+ years in IRAQ
Georgia attacks Russia, ~4 days and US says Russia MUST stop now.

Maybe Bush should stop acting like a 'peacekeeper'.

Don't think that this is your usual nationalistic / ethnic group strife. Russia covets access to the Georgia oil pipelines and their access to the Black Sea. This is a serious matter thant the US can't really do anything about because it has squandered its blood & treasure in dubious adventures in Iraq & Afghanistan. JMHO. -e-

none of ur fr#$%ing biz dude!!!
Georgia has a puppet government loyal to the U.S.A and Israel. Russia wants to keep their distance from these 2. Israel with the US want to control the oil in the middle-east. The russian and chinese getting a lot of their oil from Iran won't let Bush and Co have it that easy.

And if you go even deeper than that, you'll understand that these fuckers all work toward the same goal: the new world order. But in order to understand this, you need to unplug your tv and start thinking on your own.

Am I missing something here? When were we ever attacked by Iraq? I think if Iraq were to have attacked us first, the whole country would just be a big whole in the ground now. The whole Iraq war was a concoction of baby Bush to make up for his daddy's failure to get Hussein on the first go around.

ever wonder why Hussein was never brought to trial in an international court? why he was only tried in an iraqi court in which the judge was clearly biased against him?

i mean don't get me wrong, the guy was clearly a piece of slime, but other pieces of slime had their day in a real court...

i think this was done to prevent hussein from spilling exactly how much the US was involved in giving iraq wmds, chemical weapons, and supporting it's war against iran.

clearly this trial was to shut the guy up...

    Agreed, for so many reasons.

I don't think the USA (and the worlds) economy can handle another war. Minus Halliburton & Dick Cheney.
