Sorry guys i should have put this in my title, but if you have a lot of experience you probably know everything here.

I've been getting a lot of pm's because of my last post and there is definitely a theme with the people newer to internet marketing. No worries I will not say who!

I think a lot of people are a bit confused about what competition really means. I'm sure you've bought those asshole guru's books and they've taught you some retarded methods that don't work.

You do NOT check your competition by seeing how many pages there are when you search for you keyword. I don't care if it's 100,000 or a million, it doesn't mean sh*t. Amount of pages doesn't mean anything because g*00gle throws up relevant pages to your terms, not the exact phrase. So you have no idea if there is no one attacking the keyword and G just found a billion pages that might have something to do with it. See even though there is a billion pages there may be no real competition.

You only need to look at the top ten to twenty pages in your keyword search, then you need to see how many backlinks they have, but more importantly what anchor text were they using for all those backlinks. If all their link texts say "click here" then those dumb fucks are ranking great in G, for the damn keyword "click here" and not much else. Then there's the people that link back with their name, well what do you think they are ranking great for? they're f*ckin' name!

So to break it down

lots of backlinks with your keyword related anchored texts = high competition

no backlinks = no competition

lots of backlinks with crap anchor text = low comptetion.

I could go more in depth but for you new guys that is all you need to start. Make sure you know what your competition is up to and then you know exactly what it will take to take their ass down.

NOW STOP READING AND GET THE F*CK OUT THERE AND DO IT!

Sorry to bump this up with a sh*t post guys, but I just want to make sure most of the newer people to IM read this, as it is the foundation of a system I think is pretty f*ckin' awsome and may answer some of the questions from my other thread. I won't post like this again.

is there a quick way/software to know what anchor text they are using?

Frenchboy.....for sure man, In my other thread, the one about the free present, well that's the free present my friend. S*E*O E*lite, just throw any competitor into it (ie. there website, as show in the page ranking ie. if there's no "www" then don't type that in, if there is than type it in.....then in the result section (very easy to navigate) you will see all their backlinks and if they are do/or no follow and what the anchor text its.....enjoy buddy, let me know if you have anymore questions!

Yeah but how many backlinks are considered to be tough competition?
Also, it is weird but under my keywords with no brackets, first is wikipedia article, then a site with 8 backlinks and then a site with 180 backlinks.

wow flash can u post the link to your other post with seo elite? I just started a thread asking how to find out competitions backlink anchor text.

Small Town Boy....hey dude.....well this is where learning a bit on your own will def. come in handy. I've kind of pointed you in the right direction.....now why some rank higher than others with less backlinks may be for two reasons: 1. the limited links they do have are coming from solid authority sites, ie. pr5 or higher. 2.also you'll notice that alot of backlinks are from yahoo, so that one with 180 may have 175 from yahoo (yahoo counts way more backlinks and much faster) and only 5 low ones from google, while the one with 8 may have 3 really good pr links.....anyways sorry if that's a bit confusing but it's something you sort of have to figure out.....hope that helped!

As far as how many is tough competition, again it depends.....some one may have a ton of backlinks but the crappiest anchor text ever, so they won't be hard to take down.....even people with lots of good anchored backlinks can be taken down. It will just take longer, but at least you know how many backlinks exactly you have to get and that is the key. Also remember getting links the good ole way via bookmarking and articles and directories and such is awsome, buuuuuuuuuut g*00gle may not count them for a long time.....unfortunately i don't know when or how often they count them, but i don't worry about it i just keep building site and keep getting backlinks!

VIVAwhat's up man.....the other post is on the first page of the making money forum, it's called something along the lines of " Free present for introducing yourself".....let me know if you still can't find it, have a good one man!

Competitors with many backlinks on sites or pages not relevant is a big difference to Anchor text backlinks with relevant pages or sites. You can attack their status. My making the band 4 site was on the top 3 of google being only 1 mo 3 days old. (4k UV daily).
I call it the weak spot of competition

CashDummy what up man.....thank you for bringing that up, i can't believe i didn't mention that, my brain has gone to sh*t today........................for the purposes of what i'm trying to teach this shouldn't be a huge problem for most, because hopefully they are taking my advice and going after unique longtails that hopefully have no comp. Again i'm preachin' to the new guys, to learn the system then take it to bigger niches and rock that sh*t.....thanks again for the comment man, take care.
