Hey guys,
I'm in the process of building a website in one niche (health/fitness) and I do understand that ranking high on Google certainly helps, which is why I use KWfinder. Researching for new articles I've been wondering though- Aren't we all too obsessed with keyword research and ranking on Google? First of all, most interesting keywords are already extremely competitive. I don't think it's a great idea to only write articles based on keywords because those keywords often don't have a lot of searches (and are therefore not THAT interesting for a lot of people) and- even more important- often make the production of articles way slower and difficult at it should be. Writing purely based on keywords also doesn't make a site look very good, IMO.
So, what I'm saying is- How important are keywords really when it comes to blogging/writing articles? Isn't it better to focus on making the website interesting, covering interesting topics, instead of focusing on keywords and hoping Google will ranks us on page one (plus we don't fully understand Google's algorithm anyways). Of course I'm not suggesting to completely not care what people are interested in, it's necessary to stay up to date with trends, customer demands etc but at this point, I'm even considering to not pay for KWfinder anymore, and instead just educate myself on new topics, read news about my niche and just see what my (potential)audience is interested in reading. Instead of focusing on getting traffic through Google rankings, I'd focus on getting it through social networks (and who knows, maybe a few one of my articles would get ranked on Google anyways if the content is good and if I invested some time in getting backlinks etc).
Would love to hear your input! Thanks!
