I have been searching for this for long and seems like there is no general consensus on this, so I would like to know your opinion on:
--> Are unreadable backlinks creating a negative impact on money website serps?
--> If they are, is it only tier 1 unreadable links that do this or do tier 2 and tier 3 also negatively impact the money website?
--> If having English language backlinks linking to pages in another language can hurt the serps.

When I say unreadable I also mean 100% unique.

I am not asking for the complete truth here, I know we can't see the algorithm so we can't be 100% certain, but I believe that if there are a lot of people using badly spun content for lower tiers and it is working for them, then it should mean it works.

In my opinion YES, they have negative impact on money website serps.
Only on Tier 1 IMHO :)

Talking about the third point "English language backlinks linking to pages in another language"... I own websites in italian language and to be honest I have always used english backlinks... until today! Now i am sitting on the fence... link building is getting VERY dangerous and I prefer to wait some more before going again into that arena.

But if you think for a moment... Digg site is an english website and it is completely "proof".
How can those links hurt my italian site(s)? I think SB links are quite proof even if they are in another language.

High authority websites are probably safe from everything, google can easily implement something to ignore spammy links linking to big websites easily.

I rank #1 on G00gl3 a non-English language (non-latin characters) web site on a quite competitive field using backlinks (more than 75%) with keywords in latin characters.
I also some times use my real keywords (non-latin characters) on English language articles and posts.
Please note that i do it manually and the whole process took almost 8 months from nowhere to #1

Nice. Do you have tier 2/3? Are they readable or crapply spun?

Yes i have T2/T3 but i spend time only on T2. One of the T2 sites has 100% original, readable and similar to money site content (of course the same language) for the rest of my T2 i use sometimes readable but in most case unreadable content (but same language). On my T3 i use only english language content with keywords on money site's language, the material is readable but has nothing to do with the niche. In most cases on T3 one article has nothing to do with the rest articles
