Are Unindexed articles unique?

Hey guys,

Lets say , there used to be a website where most of the articles were not indexed. Now the website has officially been shut down and there's no chance those articles would ever get indexed (coz they don't exist anymore)

Now, if I start adding those articles on my blog (ofcourse after running each of it through plagiarism scanner) , will I be face any problem?

Yes this is correct. What many people have started doing with their PBN sites is scraping content from Archive.org from expire domains within the same niche. Run that through Copyscape and even spin it if you like. I know of others using this content on their money sites :).

The issue is that Google maintains it's own archive of dead pages. It publicly holds this as cache and then there is no guarantee that this content is purged once the content is deleted is or the page is taken down.

So be very weary if you're building your empire on expired domain content alone.

No one has gotten striked on that as far as I know. But maybe in the future. Don't think Google compares their cache to indexed pages though.

Exactly, it could have already been indexed and now deindexed.

I actually believe that Google doesn't always index on the first crawl. So just because it's not indexed, doesn't mean Google doesn't have it saved.

When you get penalized - there are several different factors at play. At the end of the day, you're left wondering whether it was "This" or "That"

I have known people who did this, get their entire site penalised.

It may not be as blatant as a "Duplicate Content Penalty" - but I am pretty sure it is a working factor in terms of ranking.
 
So I guess we can say yes its doable if you know what you're doing, but of course there is obvious risk involved.

One more question :P Lets say, I start adding 100 unique articles to a website with 0 seo.. I plan to do this for an year. Would that bring any traffic at all. Actually what I am talking about is not a blog. Consider is like a blogging platform where you need to have 1000s of posts already published so that the platform could attract more users from other sources. Also, if doing no seo ( but adding 100 posts a day) would bring any traffic from the search engines or not

The concept of "Build it and they will come" is slowly growing more and more obsolete.

You need to bring your A-game when it comes to on-site SEO - you need some Social footprints for your content. You need at least some links to get the juice flowing - before you can think of ranking on content and content alone.
 
Totally depends on the KW competition in my POV. Find a KW with a KC score below 15 and you can write a 1000-1500 word article with decent on-site seo and rank it page 1. I've done this with a 6k LMS KW. Foreign markets are your friend :).

If you're going to load up a site with a crap load of content, make sure you structure it correctly so internal juice is flowing in the right directions etc.
 
They would be unique but not advisable to be used on money content.

I am inclined to agree, yes. But even then, as I said, the On-site game should be Top-notch!

What you said is very very true though.
