I haven't done much blog commenting at all.

I find pages like this all the time when looking at competitor's backlinks.

(UGH it won't let me leave a link as an example... It's a PR4 page that has about 100 comments each having about 2 or 3 outgoing links in the comments)

Are these type of pages worth linking on or is there little value since there are hundreds of outgoing links from the page?

Is it worth my time or not?

I typically ignore the spammed to death pages when I do manually commenting. (Scrapebox is wonderful for this.) I guess my personal cutoff number is around 25. The link "juice" will certainly have been diluted by that many links. I'm guessing if Google sees your link too many times on posts like these, it'll toss you into the spammer pile.

I've wondered about this - what causes a blog post to get a high PR? Is it BECAUSE it has 100 spammed outgoing links on it? I can't see how there's hundreds of incoming links to a particular blog post, especially if it's being spammed to death. What's pushing up the PR?

They are still likely to pass on some "juice" however I wouldn't recommend spending manual time posting comments. Your time would be better spent learning more advanced SEO techniques.

Ok thank you for the responses.

I guess these types of links aren't very valuable.

If you don't recommend manual posting, do you just recommend using Scrapebox and letting whatever happens happen on these blogs?

Very little value... Not worth of doing manual work... Try to find blogs where comments go into moderation and few comments are live...

These pages retain high PR because of the internal link structure of the site. Sometimes, pages with no incoming links retain high PR due to excellent internal link structure and the overall strength of the domain.

For me, if a site has good PR and less than 300 links, I deem it worthwhile. This is from a results perspective. Especially if you are new to SEO, you shouldn't abandon resources like these. If you limit yourself to a frankly impossible 25 OBL or less, you will have built about 15 links by the end of the year.

i never do backlink from coment to other website. that waste my time, and if you use any software, i am sure that your comment approved rate 1-5%.

Less than 300 links per spammed blog comment page, or the entire site? I've seen plenty of pages that have gotten overrun with more than 300 comments. I can't see how this isn't a giant red flag for Google. (if it's bothering to look for this)

I've found mostly 25 OBL or less comment pages. (I'm looking for very nichey stuff myself.) At this point I've run out of keyword targeted sites and have focused on auto approve generic comment pages. Of course, I'm finding tons of spammed over, 300+ comments on many. Internal links structure is what gives the comment pages high PR? That doesn't make sense - all high PR pages start with a high PR? What about gaining PR over time? I've seen plenty of high PR domains have low internal pages. There's gotta be something more going on.
