This company Ashfield Management LTD wants to send my father money to his bank account then sent back to them via western union.
All the flags are there that say scam to me but parents are bit harder to convince.

It's money laundering correct?

http://www.ashfield-services.com/ ran it through copyscrape and found http://paymemore.info/

This is more than just a scam. They are recruiting money mules. these money will be stolen from a bank account and your parents will send them to a thief.
Your parents will get to the jail for this.

What about the guy who left his name under the whois data for the website he looks like quite the nerdy chap is he a mule or the thief?

agree.. there would be a high chance that your parents will be sent to jail..

:wt: its more than a scam !!

OP, be careful when handling these kinds of ***

You can put anything in whois data, whatever you want. I for one used to register some domains on Barth Simpson, I didn't expected these domains to last long anyway. No sane person will put his true identity on whois of such site.

The exact scam is this ... they will send a check or money order that LOOKS real, to your parents. But it is fake.

The bank won't immediately know it is fake. The bank will temporarily increase the amount of funds in your parents bank account.

Your parents then send the western union, which is forever gone.

The bank then realizes that the money order actually IS fake. They then take those funds back out of your parents bank account and/or police knock on their door asking them why they're trying to rip off the bank.

Site is just registered, phony content -- there is a travis palin living at that address. But the first 2 points are valid. Also if they are legit why is site not registered to a business?

I got scammed once via western union. It was embarrassing at first, then my bank froze my accounts for a fraud investigation. Luckily I saved ALL communique with the guy, which saved me in the end. When it comes to Western Union... it is NEVER worth the risk.
