So this is a black hat seo forum but do any of you think you would use more white/grey hat method on some types of sites/niches, or mix it up more?

    Thanks

You're in the wrong place, OP... it's not black hat forum... it's just the name... people use all sorts of strategies here.

This is what I mean. To rank business sites maybe it's better to do SEO disguised as white hat or even do white hat tricks to get high quality links. If we take g00ge literally that no seo is white hate that is fine, but I think it can be fairly easy to distinguish a regular PBN versus a high quality one or links from high authority sites that would look like links a big site would have.

I agree but I think the best SEO for long term rankings is one that looks like what you would see with top ranking and big niche sites. Stuff that would pass Google manual reviews for example.

Google is actually fine with SEO and SEO specialists as "white hat SEO" is just strictly following the webmaster quality guidelines. Link building is where everything gets confusing because it seems like even Google doesn't know what's against their own rules at times. It's really just a semantics issue.
-The great thing about having a high post count on this forum is that you can answer questions by quoting yourself.

I do want to be clear I don't mean pure white hat by any means. I think if you're smart likely g00gle won't know how you get your links, but I do mean if at any point your site gets big and g00gle looks through your back links, they all look legit and like they're from real sites I think that could be an ideal situation for some sites.
