Yes, I’ve noticed that too. On some smaller or niche platforms, users seem more active and engaged because there’s less noise and competition. Big platforms still have scale, but reach can feel diluted. Sometimes it’s easier to build real interaction in quieter communities.

They are especially valuable when it is a very narrow niche; sometimes a platform for 100 users can be dozens of times more valuable than one for 1,000.

Yes, I’ve noticed that as well. Smaller or quieter platforms often feel less saturated, so posts tend to get more visibility and genuine interaction. On larger platforms, content can disappear very quickly unless it’s boosted or already coming from an established account.
I think users are also more intentional on niche platforms, which leads to better discussions rather than just passive scrolling. It’ll be interesting to see whether this trend continues as those platforms grow.
