All of my attempts to engineer a CTR bot that influences rankings have failed. I am convinced it is not a factor. There have been multiple studies using crowd source clicks that did indicate that CTR might be a factor, but some studies failed to reproduce those results.

Recently JM of Google implied that repeat visitation is a basis for determining Quality (in a tweet... so very weak evidence)... BUT... if true then my CTR bots did the wrong thing by nuking cookies and swapping IP addresses... that would produce the minimum possible repeat visitation score. It would also explain why crowd sourcing clicks works... multiple visits and not clearing cookies... AKA human error. :)

I am inclined to think that Google is being honest by saying CTR is not a factor. I am really interested in testing repeat visitation now.

they were seo in webinars with good amount of people attending, that mentioned low competition keywords, mostly local searches, but not only, they did not say the domain, but mostly plumber in bronxs NY, for example, I am in 3rd spot, or something like the title tag is such and such, and people naturally went to search for it in google, the ranking did increase, but they say after a while they get lower again.
