Are PR 0 sites worthless for link building?

When I'm building backlinks, I use a wide array of search operators to home in on ******** comment systems in google. At a rough estimate, 70% of all sites listed in the results are displayed by SEO for firefox as either PR - or PR 0.

My question - is there any point in commenting on these PR - and PR 0 sites, or should they just be ignored?

i think it's a low quality backlink but it's still a backlink

if is niche related i think it's ok

I agree with this as well. As long as the site is not blacklisted by G or a bad quality link you should be good to go.

the quality of the backlink depends on where it is on the page and how that page fits into the overall site. fishing for PR is a waste of time because PR isn't kept up to date in real time. What says PR 6 today can be PR 0 tomorrow.

Just look to get text links inside the content. Not footers, not sitewide, not blogroll, not authors boxes. Google considers links in the main content to be authoritative references and those are awesome regardless of the damn PR.

I've been coming across old/abandoned sites of PR 0-7 which are filled with comment spam (the real, old skool stuff) and leaving my comment. Let's imagine G had backlisted some of them - is that a disaster for my site?

Battman323 says that it's best to get a link inside the main content - does that include comments?

Well, I certainly don't think a PR0 link is "worthless" but it certainly isn't near the worthwhile label either. Yes, you are going to get a tiny bit of bang for your buck but why not focus on a better quality link building strategy from the outset? My grandma used to tell me that sometimes a free lunch just tastes like shit. In your case, yes you can get plenty of PR0 links but why bother? Kind of like the ol' shit sandwich my grandma told me about.

i believe that baclink is still backlink..wherever they comes from..whoever said that pr is not important,well everybody has their own opinion right..but for me..when you get high pr website or blog, you really have a big advantage because spider will crawl more often thus your site will be update often than your competitor..this i believe will bring good organic traffic and increase your alexa ranking..

just my opinion, correct me if i'm wrong

On official google blog I saw a post with a nice '' picture '' about the backlinks ... it's something like '' internet is like a huge highway , with million of intersections - you can consider this intersections like be the backlinks '' ... now .. depend where you are on this high way

will be '' good / bad / worth or worthless '' this backlink

Well PR 0 sites are usually new and will soon enough be properly considered by big G (Speaking from experience), I have a site and it used to be PR 0 and then it suddenly jumped for no reason at all...

zackster, that's because google updates its pagerank database every few months.

But I guess what i'm really trying to get at is this:

I come across loads of PR 0 or PR N/A sites where I could just paste in my stuff in 15 seconds and get a link. Or I could move straight on until I find a PR1 or higher. Which option should i choose in your opinion?

PR 0 ===> 00.00 value but: it can changes to PR 2 or PR 8 (after a long time)

don't wast your time with this idea, try other valuable things and try to find PR 4 + websites to get good backlinks

Yeah focus on good backlinks, however it won't hurt you to get backlinks from 0 pr websites even though in my opinion they might not worth your time. Don't forget, online time is money so use your time in the most efficient way!
