Are people still really relying only on Google Search?

My every search query includes:

-site:Temu.com -site:Reddit.com -site:Quora.com -site:Github.com -site:support.google.com -site:pinterest.com -site:tiktok.com -site:facebook.com -site:youtube.com -site:twitter.com
i'm gonna develop a nice strategy to filter the internet as current state of default searches is terrifying at best

This fucking time I can't tell it's like with bands and nostalgia. It really is fucked.

With bands they usually change their style over time... but this? You name it.

Google and search engines became clusterfuck. They became so complicated and corrupt it's nonsense.'

Why does that shit even requires machine learning to work? Well, it's because they think making things complex makes them "gods". No, they're idiots.

Genius admires simplicity.

Wow this filter I posted above really worked.

This is close:

schedule operations sqqllite node.js typescript -site:Temu.com -site:Reddit.com -site:Quora.com -site:Github.com -site:support.google.com -site:pinterest.com -site:tiktok.com -site:facebook.com -site:youtube.com -site:twitter.com
Position number FOURTEEN.

Above that? Mostly irrelevant "authority" websites of shit brands delivering multiple layers of complexity (abstractions of abstractions of abstractions on top of abstractions).

"Prisma", "Bryntum" (almost like Burzum)

, DigitalOcean that rehashed garbage (WOW!), medium nonsense.

When people use math and vectors (machine learning) to deliver search results... I used them couple times in Python and my results were similar to what Google is today.

Why can't just some fucking employee just sit down on their ass and actually create manual selection of quality material for specific niches?!!! Da fuq is that.

The only thing that I rely on google search is them indexing me first for my website names as I can leverage that, other than that I have full focus on social media, youtube, email, and other source traffic and it works wonders compared to focusing on google as since I started focusing on all of those I also get natural google ranks on top as a cherry.
With the way things are going, relying on any single source of traffic is recipe for disaster.

It's not just Google, be it a specific social media app. Though email may be slightly different since you have a better control.

That's why everyone should work on solutions flexible between socials.

I have stopped G-search because nowadays it doesn't show relevant results.
Exactly this, the sponsored stuff on google nowadays can be everything from online stores that outright scam you to something that actually is legit.
The results are so bad though, not at all what they used to be I agree. Even searching for stuff that's not really related to anything but the topic that you're looking for yields very weird search results.

An example from yesterday is when I was searching for the bio-availability for a certain drug, all that came up was just bullshit news articles that had nothing to do with this, and "doctor" sites that were explaining how it's probably more addictive to snort this substance... Which is bullshit if the bio-availability is stronger when you take it orally.

A simple person living in the middle of nowhere can build a nice library where you know what's up and material is delivered.

Meanwhile google has the biggest budget in the world yet they can't deliver a simple information that you would get answered in minutes in a typical library.

Wow!

But if a library was a contest like Google is, nobody would go to that library for sure.

Find areas in your life and find websites for them. Stop searching for stuff on Google as all you're gonna get is general, non-factual advice.

95% of English above B1 level translations are missed.

I go straight to diki.pl and translate words there.

No general search engine provides useful answers.

AI is not even close to BHW search where there is 5000 outside of the box thinkers spammin everyday.

This place was gifted by God.

You can find solutions for everything here.

The only sites I'm relying on Google for income are my auto-generated sites and parasites. Any other 'legit' web ventures I'm part of are pretty much just focussing on building a name through whatever medium is at hand, and taking it from there.

As an end user, I'm trying to use Google as little as possible for searches, and am actually not disliking Bing at the moment. Or maybe I've just moved into the 'Bing user' age-range bracket ;)

That is the Steptoe character.

As an end user I filter everything through my own user scripts on tamper monkey.

And use some workarounds to hide garbage.

I'm faster to come up with better solution than any google search can provide.

If I use search engine, it's bhw, ebay or pinterest mostly.

But Pinterest sucks too due to ai influx. I'm gonna find an alternative more niche site for images.

Unfortunately lots and lots of people still are.
Here is the latest search engine traffic.

Search Engine Market Share Worldwide - April 2024
Google
90.91%
bing
3.64%
YANDEX
1.61%
Baidu
1.15%
Yahoo!
1.13%
DuckDuckGo
0.55%

Judge for yourself, they can't even cross 10% combined after all these years, integrating ai chat bots and doing all kinds of gimmic.
Yes, you are right. It will be tough for others to take the second place with a good share. Though tiktok has a great chance to take a significant position in the near future. Lets see.

Yeah, maybe I should be going way back to Altavista or Excite, or even the Yahoo! Directory or DMOZ :D
Yahoo is still there. Bing, yahoo and duckduckgo have joined forces but they all suck at search volume.

people who doesn't have any knowledge about search engines work still uses google. Bing is pretty good.

Most people are still using Google. At BHW, we all work in the industry or are more or less related to marketing, so there may be many people with better tools, but if we consider normal users, Google is still the largest used

im totally depend on google cz it is far better from other search engines.
Google is like a blessing to us, i regularly use google to my daily work basis and they help to find me my acuurate search, so i think google is the king among all!

I don't think so,now many people and businesses are no longer relying solely on Google Search for traffic, leads, and visibility, and pay attention on social media, such as facebook, tiktok etc

I use what I feel is best. That used to be google, no question,. But in the last year, ive found the quality of the results to be poor quite often and I decided to commit to using DDG for a while. I now find DDG at least as good in terms of quality, and far better in terms of UX.
