I had a site that I wrote and built up from nothing to top 4 in the SERPs over a period of 4 months.

Following the latest panda the site plummeted from 1000 daily visitors to 30.

My query now is it worth building more sites? Or is the entire endeavour now finished? I'm not afraid of the work, I can happily write 10k words of decent content in a day but prior to relaunching I wonder what the general consensus is?

Depends on the ad positioning and layout/content of your site. As well as your link profile. Review all these things. Could be panda and penguin

nothing is dead until u think it is . just change your methods and it will work :)

I guess to rephrase my question.

Does the effort involved to rank a low volume keyword outweigh the rewards following the latest panda update?

It depends on if you value your 1000 visitors a day for that niche and the money it brought you vs starting fresh

It is not dead buddy. You can earn money with it.Keep building quality links.

xfactor - the guy who started this whole MNS thing, stopped building micro niche sites at least 2 years ago - before panda and penquin

he has built out his micro niche sites into silo authority sites with 100 or more pages of highly themed content, using 10 themed key phrases per page

it's all in his ebook "The Authority Site Adsense Guide"

the book was published in 2010 - and at that time he said the MNS strategy still worked - but authority sites were more profitable for the work put in

There's a thread on this forum with more info:
blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/making-money/425089-journey-complete-noobs-journey-world-mns-adsense.html

I personally now believe that large-scale sites are the way to go with google - but there is the risk that you put a lot of time and effort into the site and it still gets nowhere with google

there is a thread somewhere on this forum about using blackhat xsitepro method - build big and fast, but only show google the site sections over time, in order to make it look like the site is growing over time, rather than it was auto-built

No. Depending on how you build links and write content, they are still doing very well. I have quite a few successful MNS sites as part of my blog network. As long as the keyword gets alot of exact searches and your content is highly optimized, it won't take many links to get a good spot. I use Yoast Plugin for wordpress and usually write 10 articles of content (400-600 words each) for every site. I'll add 1000 new words per month to keep the sites freshness up.

Ok guys thanks.

I guess I just got into the act at the wrong time. Pretty much straight after my earnings and traffic went up Google slammed the door shut.

I did btw blast and outsource on Fiverr for spammy backlinks. I'll rinse and repeat with completely manual backlinks for another trial site.

Thanks all!

I personally do not like micro niche sites; however, it all comes back to links.

The penguin deals with onpage content, anchor diversity, and the quality of links pointing to your site.

Word is, Panda is is on-page content and Penguin is links

Some sites are hit by Panda, some sites are hit by Penguin, and some sites are hit by both

whether it is content or links.all you should focus to get rankings.On-page seo is done one time and we should focus on backlinks building constantly.

Yeah, I can vouch that MNS still works, although maybe not your specific MNS that got hit by Panda or Penguin. I am still seeing many people here posting positive results with their MNS though, so you'll just have to adjust.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the people who are claiming MNS is dead are the same ones that post 2x(500) word articles on a CTR theme and just expect to blast the site to #1.

Nopes its not dead you can try some new Ideas and continue it. Try to maintain Unique contents and drip feed work which leave for long term
