Do you use a linkwheel more than once? I set one up, pingged the rss and social bookmarked it for one of my websites. Do I need to do anything else (now and for future). Thanks

You should keep building links. If you build and stop, you increase in serp will likely be temporarily.

Also, try to use different link build methods and sources of backlinks.

Anything you can do to make the links appear more natural, the better. In fact, some say a closed-loop linkwheel is unnatural and leave at least one link open.

You don't want to use a link wheel but more like a link tree with different properties like RSS, Article Directories, Social Bookmarks, and Web 2.0 properties. You want randomization when building these links, hence a tree instead of a closed wheel.
