After doing them to your website have you seen any effect?
If the below diagram is what you are talking about, yes, they are very effective:
I always use them and they seem to work, never been much of a link wheel person just layer, layer, layer and some interlinking now and then and I have good results.
I had some 500 one way links from relevant sites pointing to my money site. I pointed some 100 autoblog links pointing to each of these 500 one way links. funny thing that happened was tier 1 links jumped up in 4 days and beat my money site in google rankings. Till date I am waiting for the "link juice" to flow to my money site so that my money site beats these tier 1 links. Has anyone else seen this ?
Did you make sure the anchor texts that pointed to your properties are NOT the keywords your moneysite is trying to rank for?
it's not the diagram which matter but the idea behind it ,
people always tend to complicate it
And where are in that diagram those awesome spammy blog comments/forums profiles?
Isn't that what you are supposed to do? Otherwise, what keywords would you use for the anchor text?
I like to use articles on my linkwheel sites that are related to my main site but not exactly the same topic so I can use different keywords.
For example, if my money site is about car insurance and I want the anchor text leading to my money site to be "car insurance" I might put up linkwheel sites about buying new cars or buying used cars. Within those linkwheel articles I might put something like: "After you buy your new car, be sure to shop for the best and most affordable car insurance..." and use that to link back to my money site. I want these sites to appear to be just random sites linking to my money site because of the valuable information it contains about car insurance, which is related to the main topic of the linkwheel site. Then I'll use the keywords "buying a new car" and "car insurance for new cars" or something like that for the anchor text for the links I build to my linkwheel sites.
Since the linkwheel article isn't about car insurance it's unlikely to rank above my money site for the keyword "car insurance".
You won't see any in there... yet... but you never know what upgrades are being done behind the scenes.
Filthy, shameless self promotion.. and I love it.
I think this will dilute your relevancy. I was trying to rank for a keyword. When i reached the 1st spot for my main keyword, i started changing the link anchor text to try and rank for a similar, more searched for keyword. Guess what happened? I fell to the 2nd spot on my main keyword and went up a few spots on the new keyword.
Try putting up another page on your site focused on the new keyword and use the new keyword for anchors pointing to the new page.
I know, right. If he didn't have such a good service I'd bust his balls about it
You just did!
Thanks for letting me join! Please excuse this newbie. I am looking for someone to build a link pyramid for my new company's website. And this forum seems to have the right folks. Can you PM me with what I can expect for XYZ USD?
