My competitor has 30k internal links and 300 external links
I have 50 internal links and 4000 external links.

I was on first position now my competitor is. How can I outrank him again? I can't write 30k articles overnight. :ranger:

He probably has more quality incoming links. But yet it's pretty strong.
Wikipedia benefits from it, and lately wisegeek, but I think wisegeek may have takena hit, haven't seen them at the topa s much, but they are a good example of internal linking.

Internal linking is equally important. A site should have lot of internal links and backlinks from external source. The panda update also emphasized more on having more than 100 pages in a site (which is again indirectly giving importance to internal backlinks). So focus in internal links with good anchor text, else use plugins like seo smartlinks.
