i have friends who can give me access to their forum and blog accounts on both .gov and .edu sites and i was considering using those pages to write a short article with links to my site

    is this a safe strategy?

or would it be very unnatural to have links from multiple .gov and .edu sites pointing to my site? the site is not affiliate, its an offline business site

As long as they are a small percentage of your overall links I use them on my sites. But think about it, in reality why would more than .25% of your links ever be .gov/.edu links?

If thats your niche then more may be good. But if you're selling dog toys then too many would make less sense. Niche dependent for sure. Edu/Gov are good. Just use good sense and don't blast too many.

my niche is a web design and development company. could be seen as gov&edu relevant

the forums on the .gov sites that i have access to are basically unused, mine might be the only thread on there or one of very few

so i would start a new thread on a forum on a .gov site with a standard SEO article with pic/video, relevant outbound link to authority site, and 1 link to my site. then maybe build a few tier 2 GSA links to get the post indexed. standard procedure but not the same old tired web2.0 business

as said before, it depends on your niche. Just don't overdo it.

They are safe if you have limited links from them, Don't get back link to the same page, Get live link for different pages of your domain, it looks more natural
