Are File Upload sites that pay per 1000 downloads dead?

Did a bit of googling for file upload sites that pay per 1000 downloads, got some dated results that named places like Wupload and Filesonic, which are dead now.

I've got a feeling Megaupload's shutdown caused these to die off, and content lockers seem to be the replacement. I was really hoping to go with a simple file uploading place that pays per download rather than a content locker, though, since I feel like more people would be willing to download files from places that don't ask you to take surveys...

So, are there any of these left, and if there are, are they even worth pursuing? Got any recommendations? I'll follow referral links.

Yes. It's true. I wonder how people are still into this type of websites. They often don't pay and if they do, they pay pennies to their affiliates

    I appreciate your input!

I'm stubborn though and I kept googling, FINALLY found a place called FileFactory. If you navigate to FileFactory's site and paste "/affiliates" to the end of the url you can see their payout. The prices look decent compared to others I've been looking at, not to mention this is one of the only paying file upload sites that's even still around.

Anyone have any thoughts or experience with FileFactory and care to let me know if they're legit?

Yes they are dying. There is a campaign run by a dude named AdultKing on a forum called GFY. The forum is owned by PlayBoy and the campaign is funded by many members and I believe manwin, the owners of pornhub. Anyways the campaign is designed to shut down file lockers/file hosting services.

    They have a website: StopFileLockers

They worked with paypal and many other payment processors. That's why a lot of file hosting websites are left with Credit Cards.
As soon as they get credit cards to cooperate and quit processing payments the only thing file hosting sites will have left for monetizing is advertisements.

And those can easily be attacked as well.

Yea i'd go more into detail on it and provide links to all of this, but this forum doesn't allow me to post links.

If you really want more info simply Google the forum wjunction and read around.
That forum is dedicated to file sharing websites.

You might even find some legit paying file sharing websites left on there.

After MegaUpload went down, a lot of simile sites quickly followed. There are still some sites though that people upload warez and pirated stuff to.

Go to some Warez sites and see where people are uploading to.

Yeah after MU went down so bad, all other Filehosts got scared and either closed their affiliate program or just deletes the US from the paying countries.

Be careful if you search for sites that does pay, because after the shutdowns a dozen new sites appeared and tried to get into that goldmine. Lol
Of course the new sites only paid a few weeks and than stopped doing so...

I remember these sites, and after megaupload site being taken down a lot of them also went dark.

That site you linked, I checked out, and the rate's pretty terrible, but more people will download from that than from content locked sites.

    Good luck bro!

At cpaf.ly you can lock the link, but the file will have to be hosted elsewhere. Mega.co.nz is a good place for that

FileFactory do pay. But they have increase their minimum payout to $100 instead of $20. I have $22.85 in my FF account and unable to withdraw :(

I think they are totally "dead" to me. I have tried them once, but so far it's way too far for me to reach the payout due to the number of downloads required to get that small bucks. Just go with PPD now, like FileIce or Clean Files.

Oh man, thanks ALL of you guys for all the great input! I have a much better understanding of the way these upload sites are operating now.

Okay, so the PPD places I'm looking at now are CleanFiles and ShareCash. Any personal experiences with either of these? I think I just really like the look of CleanFiles' download page, it's so sleek (they have a link to a 'Live Example' from their main page). ShareCash is one whose name I feel like I see a lot around this forum, but seeing an example of what their download page looks like would be the selling point for me. Plus, the url... how shady does it look to download something from a place called "ShareCash," amiright??

I feel like I also ought to say that I'm not uploading anything illegal at all. I'm a small indie game developer and plan to make some of my games available to download for free, so I was hoping to make some pennies here and there from the downloads themselves.
