are expired domains far more expensive than before?

I am just working on my first own blog network. I read some of the how-to guides. However, I find expired domains far more expensive than described in those guides. Something like "you get 5 great expired domains for just 150 bucks"etc. When I look on godaddy for good domains (DA/PA/TF/CF ~ 20 + branded, non spammy backlink profile) I see them sold for 70 - 100 $ each.

Is this a general price increase because the technique became more popular or is godaddy the wrong place to go?

Why use Godaddy when there are a handful of guys selling them here and will give you guarantees?

Try these out. There is a higher demand than before, but it depends on the domain itself. There are also sellers in the marketplace here.

Expired domains are way more expensive than they were 2 years back with everyone and their dog advertising PBN building services, teaching and selling ebooks on how to build one, and selling PBN links. The 301 redirect method also contributed to the inflation. I watched a PR 4 domain with links from renowned authority sites and a PA and DA of 50+ (but less than 60) sell for $1800.

It's price was a few hundred dollars during the auction. Then, suddenly, 2 days till the end of the auction, one of the bidders placed a high $1000+ bid. Crazy, isn't it?

Prices at Godaddy are going to be expensive, so it's probably not the vest place to look for expired domains. The popularity of them as a method of ranking is going to mean prices keep on increasing, unfortunately.

Are you sure you are talking about dropped domains and not domain sniping services?

As somebody that buys 1000's of these domains per month I can let you know that acquisition rates have spiked in the past few months. We've seen about a 20% increase. We've kept our bulk rates the same though. We still provide DA20+/CF20+/TF20+ domains as low as $35 each over at Managed Admin.

Yep, I agree with beastman. Of all the domains I have picked up, godaddy consistently seems to be fetching higher prices compared to places like name jet and snapnames for domains of similar quality. Think it has something to do with godaddy not having the $59/$69 price point start

They are expensive indeed. As PR not a factor anymore i got mine with scrapebox.I managed to get a nice 15 years old domain niche targeted for 20 bucks...The people that are selling domains...well most of them are selling crap or not able to provide niche domains.I contacted around 4 of them and 3 of them were unable to provide niche domain...only some random domains with comment back links/which is better than nothing/ and the one that was fine was around 400 $. Which i still less than 1800,but cmon...

It costs as low as $2.99(if you use coupon) for expired domains or $20 if you're buying it from expiring auction. Thinking out of the box will always get you a great domain at just the registration price.

I for one think it's good to see people buying it for a higher price because that'll weed out all these newbies who simply don't even know to setup a PBN and spoil the domain's authority and make it go waste.

Hey Buddy, just a little heads up. You gotta have a Jr.Vip membership in order to sell/indirectly refer to your service in BHW. Making posts like this will get you an infraction/ban. Don't tell me I didn't warn you before. Welcome to BHW!

There are better and cheaper places to find good expired domains. Godaddy is expensive and if you are new, be prepared to lose money.

Domains are anywhere from 800-5000% more expensive than they were just a year ago. This fad will kill itself over time. People are investing mid six figures for a handful of domains that aren't even great quality, these domains (if you watch what is bought for a few months afterwards, I do for fun and to understand these morons) are getting abused badly. Google will rock their world soon, if they haven't already.

I have never paid over $150 for a domain and never will, this means I buy fewer domains than in the past. I try to average just the registration fee, however, and still am successful doing so. If this stops one day, I will just let all of the morons kill themselves in the meantime. People truly don't know what they're buying. I talked about this at length not even a month ago.

I'm actually thinking about hiring a guy just to buy non-linked (but PR sites with high domain age) just to spam the hell out of it with xrumer and GSA and then sell them for $500-1000 to these people. Wouldn't take more than a week to generate 20-30 sites like that. This emulates CF/TF pretty well, and people are too stupid to know the difference.

Thanks for the heads up! Looks like we had better fork over the money for that Enterprise account. It's about time Managed Admin started getting more active on BHW anyway!

Spot on. It surprises me to see people buying utter garbage. Almost every domain with backlinks listed on Godaddy auctions has a bid. If they don't, wait until a few days before the end of the auction and you'll see the bids start to trickle in. Some of these domains are domains I would never think of buying even at the registration price, yet I see people paying hundreds for them and striving for them.
