Of course I know that backlinks are more effective on related content... but do YOU think they are even more effective if they are placed on sites/blogs in the same niche as yours?

I ask this because a lot of the services you order on fiverr or anywhere place backlinks on non-related websites... but wouldn't Google give more authority to a link placed on a website that is wholly related to your niche rather than just having an article related to your niche -- or does it not matter? Share your experiences and if you need me to clarify, let me know.

Are you touching on 'hub' theory? Are you saying would it make a bigger difference to get a link from a hub site in your niche, i.e. a site that links out to a lot of other sites in your niche. If that's what you are asking, then yes.

The other part to it is that a contextually relevant page on a relevant site in the niche is likely to have lots of other relevant pages linking to it from within the site, which increases its worth. But then you can do that by interlinking relevant content from other sites as well.
