Here is the problem for me,whenever I start doing my IM stuff using my Laptop in my apartment,I feel too lazy and end up watching movies, listening to music, browsing facebook,BHW etc.But whenever I go to malls, beaches etc., I feel like I want to do my IM stuff now itself. Personally I cant afford I phone nor can I afford a postpaid connection. All I have is an AT&T prepaid phone which is Sony Erickson W760a. I don't know if there are any Internet marketers out here who are doing there IM while sitting in the beaches, swimming in the ocean,in the woods, while driving and seeing new places without an Iphone using ordinary phones. I am just wanting to know how practical is it to manage and do all our site modifications,SEO,uploading Videos to youtube etc using an ordinary mobile phone?I know for a fact that my you tube campaigns wont work out with my mobile phone, but what about SEO,link building etc.One more question which I have is if I can use SEO tools like Scrapebox,Senuke etc in my mobile phone or even I phone. Can some mobile Internet marketers share their experience. Also can somebody tell me can I access internet using a prepaid mobile phone in an ordinary phone other than Iphone?
Also can I use any SEO tools in iphone if I get one?

    get a 13" laptop or a netbook.

Mobile phones are not good for work, just sending/reading emails. browsing, and other stuff.

The best machine you can have for IM is a minimum Core2Duo machine within a 17-24" screen.

ps- try taking caffeine/bananas while at work. It gets you into the mood and makes you much more productive.

The problem is carrying the laptop and having access to the internet while I am in places like in beaches,in bus,in malls etc.I just feel like doing it when I am outside, but always feel lazy when I get back to my apartment. So most of the time I end up watching movies, listening to music, chatting with friends, face book.Boy time really goes very fast.Currently I am unemployed so I am planning on working somewhere just to get the feel of socializing with others,i may be going to work in a restaurant for a few weeks. Is it possible to carry the laptop around in such places. But I bet you can use your iphone for many things right? And can I access the internet the same way as I can with iphone with an ordinary Sony Erickson phone? Also do all the social bookmarking and pinging sites work in my mobile internet 3G.I bet that will work in an Iphone. So is it advisable to get a 2nd hand Iphone just for the sake of doing my IM work.

I run remotely a good portion of the year.

Off a CDMA internet stick, sometimes in the city, sometimes very very very far from it.

site modifications - fairly simple to do, am running wordpress and most of the admin work is fairly lightweight
uploading videos - don't do a lot of these.
seo / link building - works ok. I try to outsource link building, if I'm running SENuke can usually set it remotely and check back every so often. Anything with a scheduler usually runs great.

Scrapebox SENuke won't run on a mobile phone. Correct me if I'm wrong, I don't think they'll even run on mac. With some phones (ie blackberry) you can usually thether the phone in for a connection (google phone tethering). Advantage is that usually you get a new IP quite quickly.

For the most part, I just log in remotely to a desktop and set up the applications through there. You may be able to do this through a phone.

It's great to get away from the office for months at a time, however without access to an unlimited bandwidth connection it really doesn't make sense.

If you're having trouble with procrastination try this:

look up how to modify your hosts file (google it)

I use it to block all the websites I procrastinate on. Can't access lifehacker / gizmodo / drudgereport / etc. on my computer, only on my ipod touch. That way, it's difficult for me to surf and waste time when I'm working, but not impossible.

I do it sometimes, I have a t-mobile myTouch and I tether it to my laptop. The speed is not bad at 2mb/s down and .33mb/s up. I don't know about your phone, but all I had to do is use a USB cable and download a PdaNet. Works quite well.

Whether you can access internet via computer when you're out and about depends on what kind of service you want to use. I have a 10" netbook that I run everything from and it works great. IF I wanted to use it at the beach or in the woods I'd get a wifi account through a cell provider. But, I don't want to do that. I travel full time but work and play are different things. I generally choose a small/mid size city to use as a home base for a few months, get an apartment with internet included and work from there. Then, when I need a break for a few days/weeks I head out and leave my laptop behind. Figure out how to automate as much as possible so you don't always have to check in and you'll be happy.
