I've just set up an affiliate program for my ecommerce site and I want to approach relevant online sites/personalities about promoting my site. However I'm not sure about the best way to do it.
I'm thinking most people aren't marketers and don't understand how aff programs etc work, what they'll think about the practise. The worst thing would be for them to write a blog post or whatever about these perhaps underhand promotional tactics.

I could do really well approaching say a youtuber with relevant videos and having them place their aff link in the description and be able to cut down my adwords spend a little. But I'm not sure how the majority of people would respond.

Also what are the best ways to hide an affiliate link, rather than the default www.mysite.com/?affiliate=32 which I think gives the wrong impression of a company. I'd also hate for my competitors to easily see I'm running one as I'm the only one in the industry currently doing so.

I'm sure many of you have some wisdom to part with and I'd love to hear it.

    Thanks!
