Applying to University..extracurricular essay

Hey guys,

I'm applying to a fairly reputable University in the next week or so (I'm transferring from community college).

For part of the application, I have to write a couple pages on this:

Briefly elaborate on one of your extracurricular activities or work experiences.

The only real job I've ever held has been at an electronics store for like 1 month, but I ended up quitting after realizing I couldn't work for $8 an hour haha.

But I was wondering, since I'm sure a lot of people on here did go to college. Do you think it'd be a good idea to talk about my IM experiences? I mean, on one hand, it's certainly something unique that will make me stand out. On the other hand, like many other nonbelievers, they may just be like "yeah...BS".

What do you guys think?

I say go for it, talk about IM (just don't talk about BH heh).

This isn't 1995, it's fairly well know that plenty of kids do IM, develop websites, create startups etc (fairly common knowledge that most successful startups have been created by early 20 year olds).

Will make you stand out as a go getter, entrepreneur, can only reflect well on you.

Sounds good. After all, my intended major is business/econ so that makes sense. Thanks
