In the upcoming IOS 14, Apple will not collect IDFA which is the unique device number that helps to better target ads and calculate the effectiveness of the ad.

If this implemented 50% drop in the Facebook Audience Network advertising business (This policy mostly affects Facebook ad business).

Facebook, which announced today that it’s fighting back against Apple’s move.

What do think about this move?

A very good move indeed. Privacy first.

Another bad move from Apple.
Their extremely strict policy has shown its weakness on Apple Maps (vs Google Maps), Apple Photos (vs. Google Photos), App Store (vs. Play Store) - and now this.

Sure, short term, data privacy is good. But user experience will always win long-term over hypothetical risk of invasion of privacy.

I genuinely think Apple has reached it's ATH and will only go downhill from here.

AAPL would have made much more if they licensed their software but decided not to do so like using an open source OS. It is only a matter of time before the brand loyalty wears off

From what I understood, it's going to affect Audience Network publishers and developers of apps on iOS14.

As far as advertising to Instagram/FB Channels, they are not that concerned about it.

I could have missed the point though.
