Hey Guys,

I'm in the market for an app designer.

You should have a great portfolio, please don't message without a real portfolio and for the love of god and everything holy, don't include minor alterations of publicly available UIs as your own work.

This will be a content-first app, so I don't need any peculiar illustrations or cartoon-ish drawings.

I'll need you to have a great understanding on typography and the likes.

We're looking for a flat design.

Thanks

Too bad you require a portfolio (completely understandable)
I'm just practicing Illustrator from 1 year for my projects (they're as much pretty as secretive tough) and I pretty much feel to have da skills. Tough I guess no one is so sick to pay 100$/h for a random guy without portfolio :) I suggest you to learn it yourself. Probably you have better ways to spend your time, but don't undervalue the power of being able to bake out some pretty design in a short time. I think it's well worth learning (Assuming you've got any graphic design taste at all).

Anyway, the best places to look for a UI app designer are def Behance and Dribbble. Just check branding and UI. You'll find SO many talented designers. 1000000x times better than a freelance website or an agency.

I know my way around Photoshop, and can churn out designs quickly, but it's not enough to call myself a "designer".

I'd rather be a master marketer first, than a jack of all trades. But thanks for your input.

==========

To everyone else who applied either here or via PM, thank you for the application. The requirement has now been filled.
