September of last year I did some AFF marketing, raked in about $250. As of November I still had the credit but it was on 'hold'. So I forgot about it. At that same time winter came and every week I checked my mail from the post office to see if the carrier kept anything because he couldn't make it to my door, up until Jan 9th there was nothing. On a whim I checked my AFF account, they said they sent the check, I called and they confirmed they mailed it on 12/14? I went to the post office and told them either they had my checks or I was crazy and the clerk went around the corner and came back with a stack of 4 checks, no bills, just checks. It's nice to know the post office hordes checks like victorias secret catalogs. After berating the clerk for lying and being too lazy for the last month and screaming what if my heat was shut off and I had no money for food while they were holding my mail I was asked to leave. Maybe I can file suit...

File a formal complaint with the Postmaster of your branch...and inform them you are telling them this BEFORE you tell your story to the Consumer Watchdog in the Newspaper or Local TV station...just as a courtesy...

It might take me a few tries, the highly paid people behind those doors take ample breaks and disapear quite often. I always said people who worked at the post office were crazy, ample breaks, 1hr+ lunches, many holidays, great vacations and guarenteed retirement. Too bad people in the real world don't have it as good.

I am sorry for what happened to your checks.
And I know post will not change habits very fast.
    Yet you need a solution.
How about opening a P.O. Box where you can check your mail whenever you want? Would it cost too much for the safety to get your checks in time?

I have more than 1 account with that particular program and thought I'd save the costs. I'd accept paypal if it weren't for the fees, I'm just not into letting people eat chunks out of my earnings here and there...

Gotta agree with Clopper on not wanting to give up extra fees to get ur $$$$. I had a similar incident with the post office a few years back; it's really crappy.

P.O. Box may be a better idea. I haven't had any issues since then, but I totally know the feeling bro of checks that just "sit" around at the post office.

    What was your experience?

BTW, maybe they were messing with me, I've never not gotten a bill and you can clearly see in the window that my horded mail was nothing but checks...
