Do you currently have another (non-IM) job?

To me when I started doing IM and was able to quit my 9-5, that taught me to be more disciplined.

There are a number of courses out there. See if you can get Wake Up Productive 2 by Eben Pagan. I haven't watched it, but that was the whole purpose of the class.

Right now, i'm just in IM. I do different stuff as Web-Developer , SEO and Managing my own sites. Maybe the diversity of tasks i have is causing this problem.

For me it was more a matter of getting obsessed and staying obsessed, to quote John Irving. That's easier said than done but finding that one obsession makes the required discipline for execution almost an afterthought.

Setup a good schedule. I wake up every morning and go for a run. If i'm lazy I just go for a walk but it ends up turning into a run. I also use go on Lumosity everyday. It's supposed to help make your brain more active and focused. Don't know if it works for everybody but it helped stay focused on tasks for long periods of time.

    Other stuff:
-work 45 min at a time with a 5 minute break in between. If you have an iphone put on a timer. For those 45 minutes you'll feel pure focused energy and whatever you're doing.
    -diet & nutrition help too.

I use the Pomodoro technique. Its a method where you work for 25 minutes, then you take a 5 minute break. There are a few rules

    - The times are strict. 25 minute "Pomodoro" and then 5 minute break
    - No distractions during the 25 minute "Pomodoro". If something manages to distract you, you have to start it again

You can read all about it if you google the name.

TO understand discipline and use it on your online work, firstly you need to change a few things in your real life too. Start from small things like always make your bed when you wake up, with no butts. Like always do a thing even if you don't have the mood, until it fits like a glove. Online you can do it knowing from the first moment that you have work and you have to focus only on it, music might help (headphones) and don't check your personal Facebook millions of times during work, not even once. If you have to work, then it means this is more important than whoever would call you on your phone or text you on FB.

As a Sci-Fi advice, get a coffee, and during work, try to think that you are under the effect of the NZT-48 pill (the one from the Limitless movie) and you love to focus on your work, and hate to ruin your time on stupid things. Because quality work = quality time, and time is money.

Make a deal with someone, and yourself. You need to earn atleast $5/day; that is the deal to yourself. The deal to the other person is, if you can't pay them $2.50 of that 5, you get kicked in the nuts.

If that won't keep you motivated or atleast working hard you either have balls of steel or enjoy it. With either of those traits, I'm sure you could make more than $5/d with them. Enioy :p

I try to do as much as possible of what I like to do. When things I don't like to do are required, I assign them the less time possible. So, I need to be effective and productive... but it's not that bad, cause I will just spend one or two hours on those boring/stressing tasks.

I also use "Concentrate" (OSX). I love it!
