    Ok so here's the situation:

I sold my WoW Account to someone and what they did was, right after they received my username/password, they opened a dispute saying they never sent any money.

Which is a good thing I kept the secret question answer to get the account back..

Apparently PayPal has this fucking retarded rule where people can just open disputes and get your money frozen just by simply saying "Nope.. never sent it.. wasn't me".

NOW.. every time I upload our conversation log and a screen shot of proof that I have handed the account over to the scammer, they close the dispute and open a new one so that there's no evidence there. Personally.. I think this is a fucking stupid rule because I've never had a problem with PayPal till now.. so basically I could buy a product for w/e, then just send in a dispute saying I didn't send any money, and he wouldn't get the money? How fucking retarded.

Has anyone dealt with a situation like this and had it fixed? Anyone know how to speed things up because I will fight it for 6 months if I have to.. one thing I don't tolerate is scammers period.. whether I need the money or not, I will fight a scammer till death.

Depends on how much money. In the end you always lose time, even if you win or lose the battle.

Paypal needs some kind of system for the chargebackers, the way the seller gets screwed up for having too many chargebacks, it's the same way an account must get limited if it's done too many chargebacks. If you keep charging back a certain amount all year it either means you're a scammer or paypal isnt for you, but paypal does not care even though they know this.

Or is there a system like that i dont know about?

Unauthorized/chargeback buyer always wins on digital or virtual goods
Not as described seller always wins on digital goods

Make sure you're prepared to deal with this when using paypal, everyone and their damn mom is a scammer. You cannot win this dispute, its in their ToS and I deal with 3-4 disputes a day because of the volume I do with PP, 100% you're screwed don't waste your time.

Well if he got the account back, then just refund and close the dispute. Get it over with and move on.

See, that's not something I would do.. NEVER should a scammer just be refunded his money and to just "move on". Scammers need put in their place.. it's reasons like that why scammers still exist, because no one wants to deal with them.

Scammers need scammed.. looks like all of today's efforts are going towards this pathetic fuck who tried to scam me.

Actually the two disputes somebody raised on an ebook I sold them - two different customers who tried to scam me - I just entered all the required info about how it was a digitally downloadable good and waited it out and within a couple of weeks the money was reinstated.

Now I don't know about selling accounts, though - they might frown on that and not see that as a real product you're selling.

Also the age and reputation of your account and whether or not you have a verified business account also helps. I don't do much business through Paypal but I've had a verified business account for several years - maybe that helps? Good luck and try to play by their rules if you're intending to use them in the future. I've had good experiences with them as long as I went through that verification process in the early days to establish my business account.

I don't know what they're doing, but every time I enter new details about the case, the dispute is closed and a new one opens up.

@Dangregory. Blizzard (The company that owns World Of Warcraft) frowns upon selling accounts, however, PayPal doesn't give a fuck. They're still making money off transactions and they don't care.. I've asked before via phone. Looks like I'm just going to give them a ring, and provide all the chat logs/e-mails/screenshots I can to show them I handed over the Username/Pass.

    Account holder since 2006
    Account type: Premier

I've never had a single dispute or bad reputation before this incident.. and apparently I'm the only person that this exact person (exact e-mail even) has done this to.. you'd figure that would raise an eyebrow or two.

i got my account closed because of too many disputes....but all disputes were resolved amicably...between me and buyers...

imo, paypal's dispute center is a big joke....

Yep, You need to talk with a rep. or a supervisor, if the rep is cannot catch what is going on. Have your stuff together and be able to provide all the details concerning the transaction.

Had a despute of $200 that i got solved yesterday....called them three times over the course of two weeks, and told them on the last call to contact the buyer again and he will confirm the transaction.

They released the money to my account while i was on the phone with them.

I've noticed some paypal sellers will require a waiting period of several days before they will deliver on their digital goods. Some 2 or 3 days, others wait almost a week. Is there a set number to this? Is it really effective in preventing this kind of dispute?

Though they may suck, if you don't find a way to deal with Paypal then your options are pretty fuckin' limited.

Yes, Paypal sucks, eBay sucks, credit cards suck, banks suck, the stock market sucks, my epn got banned -that sucks, Mall Cop sucks, Bernard Madoff sucks
