As some of you may know, removing and reinstalling Windows 8.1 is a bitch. It's such a bitch, I can't even begin to explain how badly I want to jump on the bandwagon of Windows haters.

Some basic information. It is a legit copy of Windows. I bought a Windows 8 Pro way back when and decided to make the fatal mistake of doing the 8.1 update. With 8.1, you can not remove and reinstall Windows. It is like darn near impossible. I also do not have the original CD's or anything, I would however be more than willing to switch over to a free OS like Ubuntu if I have too.

I can pay you $40 for the job. PM me or respond here if you're interested or just want to give some advice on what to do.

Well, if you want to switch to Ubuntu or some other distro, just burn it to a DVD(or you can use a bootable USB stick), change your primary boot device to your CD if you're using DVD or to your USB drive if using a bootable one. Then all you have to do is to follow the steps.

The reason I am doing it is because I have some viruses. Also want a fresh PC, if I installed Ubuntu on a USB would I then be able to remove everything and start all over with Ubuntu?

    Use this: http://www.pendrivelinux.com/universal-usb-installer-easy-as-1-2-3/

Once you have created the installer you can wipe the drive.

    Simple. Really.

    1. Download Windows 8.1 ISO from
    go . microsoft . com / fwlink / p / ?LinkId = 271128.
This can also burn the image to DVD, make a bootable USB or just store it on your disk. I prefer to have a backup of ISO for future use.

    2. If you already have an ISO, consider downloading a simple tool
    microsoftstore . com / store / msusa / html / pbPage.Help_Win7_usbdvd_dwnTool.
Use this tool to create bootable USB from your Windows ISO

    3. Reboot. Hold DEL to boot to your BIOS. The key to boot to BIOS may change depending on your hardware. Go to the boot sequence (or has similar words, you should be able to Google it for your motherboard. Make sure USB is the first in boot sequence

    4. Plugin your USB. Reboot.

    5. You will see the Windows installer instructions. Just follow them to glory
