I want to protect my home IP when I download using torrents. Anyone using free proxies to download?

I know that most torrent clients allow you to use a proxy, and also turn off seeding.

Has anyone tried running OpenVPN with free proxies to protect all activity?

I use a service called torrentprivacy. Its $10 a month and while its not the fastest thing around, it keeps me from getting those nasty letters from my ISP.
