I saw Jon Dykstra who runs fatstacksblog mention the use of Elf Links for hiding his affiliate links. I haven't really seen anything on this plugin on the net except for WF and this guy's blog post http://im.zone/i-used-elf-links-and-i-am-not-impressed-here-is-why/

Anyone here have any experiences with this plugin or hiding aff links (whether it's worth it or not) in general.
    Thanks!

This looks similar to pretty links. A lot of people doing amazon use that to sorta cloak their affiliate links.

I had heard of this alternative, I think Chris Lee from RankXL Blog uses that plugin. I wonder how those two are different?

Well. I have used pretty links. It simply creates a redirect.. n camouflages it as an internal link.

So, the links look like yoursite.com/product

When infact its an affiliate link. This is supposed to prevent penalties due to posting affiliate link

It's easy to make your own cloaker. Just encode the affiliate url with base64 (in php, base64_encode($url) ), then decode it on some page in your site , such as page.php?data=(the encoded data). Then use javascript to redirect. Ive been doing this and it works great.

If I had any tech knowledge, I would have loved to do that. Hence, these plugins are meant for users like me who don't have any coding experience but use wordpress for their websites.

I think what you just said was a foreign language
Interesting recipe for a cloaker, how does google not find this?
    Appreciate the input!

Elf links is very different from pretty links.. elf links hides the link from the source code and Redirects are a big NO NO for Amazon.. People have gotten banned for pretty links redirects.

Elf plugin seems great but i would love reviews too.. I dont seem to be able to find many though.. The system it uses is absolutely different from pretty link..
People if anyone knows please comment..
