    Hi

Anyone ever tried to monetize a funny video on youtube?
How much die you earn on average per 1000 views?
Pretty low would be my guess?

Steve Kardynal must be making a lot from adsense though...

I did about 1 year ago and it took me from then till now to make $12... that was with one video though, I made it and let it go.

Just if you do it pick a topic that everyone is watching, like when gangnam style was big people who made remakes were making money, same with funny people compilations. but most of those are dead no so you will need to go with the flow.

In order to monetize a Youtube video with adsense, you have to be able to prove you have the commercial rights to use everything in the video. For example, if you you use stock photos, stock music, stock video, etc. you have to be able to send Youtube a copy of your licensing agreement. I've made some humorous videos recently that were getting 2,000+ views a day, and when I tried to monetize them I was asked to provide proof that I owned all commercial rights to everything in the videos. I sent copies of my licensing agreements for the music and stock video clips I used, but there was about 20 seconds of video from an older video that went viral on Youtube a few months ago. I couldn't prove that I had the commercial rights to the footage, so I was unable to monetize those particular videos.

Make sure you can prove you have the COMMERCIAL rights to everything in your videos before trying to monetize them with adsense.
