I made an article writing gig on Fiverr. Currently I'm offering 2 600-words article for $5 just to get some reviews for it.

So, does anyone here still making money from Fiverr? What did you do to make it successful?

Yes. The reason you aren't making money is because your service is generic, and doesn't seem like it'd be such great quality, based on the grammar used in your post.

Ok, do you have any suggestions on how to make it less generic? I already added "free keyword research" in the gig's description but more suggestions are welcome.

One more question. Has anyone here ever ordered an article-writing gig on fiverr and loved the result?

Not yet , fiverr is kind of saturated you need to rank on search to get orders these days which is dumb.

Is it okay to promote my gig on this thread?

Is there a subforum here where people are allowed to promote their gigs?

You might get banned for promoting your links here. It is not allowed, it is called spamming. There are no sub-forum where you can promote your gigs. We have a BST section where you can offer your product and it comes with a price.

And back to your question: Yes, people are still making money from fiverr, because I just bought a few gigs there.

    Oops. Didn't know that.

I'm planning to offer my service in BST section once I make some money from my gig. So I desperately need to make a sale there.

If you don't mind me asking, what kind of gigs did you buy? Are you happy with the result? Got any suggestions for a new seller like me?

Personally, I'd change the gig completely. There are thousands of article writing gigs on fiverr already, that's what I meant when I said it was generic. It's saturated.

I'd do something a little more creative. Find a template for something cool, and tweak it according to your buyer's requirements.

For example, you could get/create a bunch of business card templates, ask your buyer for their logo and contact info, pop them into the template, and you're done.

I think what Conor is saying, is you might want to focus your gigs around a niche like:
Two unique 600-word geo-targeted roof replacement articles $5
Two unique 600-word geo-targeted hardwood floor refinishing articles $5
Two unique 600-word geo-targeted roof replacement articles $5

Maybe even focus the "research-based" content in the articles around the:
7 questions to ask a (enter niche here) over the phone before making a hiring decision.
The 3 questions that most local (enter niche here) hope you'll never ask.
    (The more juicy the better)
    (Don't forget the "research-based" part)

Then offer a unique 10, 20 or 30-page e-book on the same subject with content that gives a more in-depth explanation.

Your clients are probably in desperate of a strong lead magnet and a highly targeted well written e-book with a converting headline is at least a step in the right direction not to mention a hell of an upsell for you.

Keep it affordable on the front-end and then upsell the research piece, the better custom cover graphics, kindle layout and submission etc.

As Conor also pointed out, less than perfect grammar used in an article writer's post or gig will instantly MURDER sales.

(Please excuse any of my grammar mistakes - good thing I don't sell writing services) LOL

Fiverr is definitely over-saturated these days.

Is it still possible to bank? Yeah, it's just much harder.

You should have a regular customer at fiverr, seoclerks, oDesk, elance,
You have to resolve the problems of others

I make a couple hundred monthly on fiverr, its not a big income but it and micromarketing are the only two ways i have made reasonable money online. I'm successful on fiverr because i was the first to sell what i do, now there are plenty of people who copy however i offered benefits to people who gave positive reviews so i have a massive reviews collection which gives leverage over other sellers

Am an Article & Resume writer on fiverr and I still make few bucks monthly. In fact, I just delivered orders worth of $60 few hours back. My suggestion to you is to rank your gig so you can gain more exposure. I have an ebook on that I can give you for few bucks and I will also take a look at your gig. You can add me on Skype at jaycolley20
