i try to buy from crackheads and find good deals on craigslist. i've sold an xbox, digital cams, gps and cellphones, but it's hard to keep steady inventory, and sometimes i just scour craigslist, but hard to make a decent profit consistently. anybody else have any good experiences? anyone selling cellphones? i've only made about 2,000 doing this in about 3-4 months, just money on the side. it may be scalable, but it takes money to make money!

Ill let you in on a story of mine, when I was 17 (6 years ago) I started selling jet skis on ebay, I would get them for cheap from CL and other classifieds and make SERIOUS bank for a 17 year old, at my peak I had 20 jet skis in my parents garage, backyard and front yard, making no less than $500 on each one and they sold fast during the summer. At times I had a number of people contact me through eBay to find a jet ski for them as my feedback got better, that was quick money. Best sale was when I got a jet ski for $800 sold it for $2500 the next day! $1700 for MAYBE an hour of work. Was hanging around in Vegas casinos and strip clubs every weekend.

    ah...good times

If you were to seriously consider this, PM me Ill let you in on some details.

If your wondering why I dont do this anymore, its because thing started to slow down with the economy and I got into something else.

Seems like most of the stolen shit is the tweakers who e-mail you asking if to trade power tools, etc.. that they stole last night. A lot of people are just broke and can get more on CL than they can from a pawn shop. At least in my area, I am sure it varies.

Hit up garage sales if they are in your area. You can find a plethora of electronics at next to nothing prices. I've had great luck with video games that will cost me around a dollar and will sell for $20. Good luck to you!

I cant wait to try selling electronics on eBay. I have some good pretty wholesalers, and I might be able to pull it off. But more than that; I want to create my own site so I can increase my profit margin.

I sell a lot of electronics on ebay, it is a pain in the ass. Unfortunately that makes no difference as I still need them to help move my products.

You can always make money on there with electronics, you just need to know what is hot RIGHT NOW, and start selling asap, i've mad tons dropshipping, but i've been in business for a longggg time, and i know all of the ropes, if you're new to this I DO NOT recommend dropshipping. If you want to dropship you need to make sure your supplier will accept returns, if they give warranties, some may even fix the electronics for you.

Although I would think electronic items would sell well on ebay, I never wanted to get into it simply for the reason of dealing with returns and potential problems with products. I much rather sell accessories (like IPAD covers, etc) because the rate of return would be much lower.

Find a legitimate supplier; scouring craigslist is inefficient and too time-consuming.

Just wondering how any of you successful guys earned your customers trust? I am able to sell brand name electronics on eBay for a small profit but my eBay account does not have much feedback. What is the best way to come across as trustworthy?
