Dude, c'mon. If you don't watch it in the cinema, how are NASA going to recover the huge amount of money they obviously spent on this genius level piece of propaganda.

Did you know NASA also discovered water on Mars the last weekend too? They're super lucky that it coincided so well with the film's opening.

(disclaimer: I'm a space nerd so I loved it anyway, but still....)

according to imdb it was released only yesterday, i highly doubt that you will find anything, in a few days there will be cam versions for sure, but you don't want to watch those either, you wanna wait for a hd rip from China with hardcoded subs which will happen god knows when, so if you really can't wait, grab a huge boobed blonde and hit a cinema :p, blonde is optional though

Mate, if I had a huge boobed blonde at hand, I wouldn't be watching space films.

Haha, didn't know about the film but I had heard about the discovery of water - now that I put those two together it does seem like it could be a marketing stunt!

Interstellar was pants. Haven't seen gravity but have heard good and bad reviews. The Martian was amazing. These are my objectively-correct subjective opinions.

Or, what's more likely, the huge-boobed blonde will be distracted by multiple scenes featuring a semi-naked Matt Damon. *cough* Not that I noticed.

+1 for the book - loved it. I'd probably say watch the film first. It's reasonably faithful to the book but they have to cut a lot out for the running time so reading it after would expand the story for you.

SLIGHT SPOILER ALERT FOR THOSE WHO WANT TO READ THE NOVEL...

The only thing that got on my nerves in the book was the over use of internet slang ie, YAY! LOL! Etc in his diary entries. I found that annoying. Does he do that in the film Apricot?

Actually, no - they made the main character really likeable. I can't remember them doing that at all but it's possible I just didn't notice it. Matt Damon was bloody brilliant in it, and the acting wasn't bad either.

    Speak for yourself, mate! :)

Ok, you don't trust my words :), just put the pics of both -- Marilyn Monroe and the Martian -- on this thread and let's vote who has the best features lol. Imo, the martian will come a poor third...

No place for science in the Martian?
