    they was fast to answer.

Thanks and this is what I expected, but never hurts to double check. Do they allow overselling?

Adding to the OP questions, who provides the tech support if my customers (me being the reseller) have questions?

Is it as much as a set it, forget it, promote it as it sounds?

HostGator will provide support to you and you then provide it to your customers.

I can only say the best things about their service. I have been using reseller account for 6 months now, zero downtime and superb performance. They don't support overselling. The best part is the support, they are very responsive and solve problems in no time.

I'm going to create a new posts called 'Reseller Support Options' as I do not want hijack this thread. However, if you are reading this post here, you can reply here as well.

I'm interested in reselling web hosting. I have the ability to reach a lot of people because of the industry I a work in (housing) and the connections and resources I have access to.

I do not want to hire tech support and I do not want to be over loaded with questions.

What are my options? Selling hosting as an Affiliate has made me money, but I want have a website that has my own company name on it.

Are there resellers that provide tech support to the end user or is there an option for this to be purchased by me?

    Thanks in advance.

I use Hostgator for 6 years as a reseller and it's great. No overselling, great support, very fast, almost 100% uptime. 10/10 stars from me. :)

    HOSTGATOR rocks.

I have both a reseller account and a business account.

They rule. The live chat is always there, I recommend them to everyone.

I've been with them for over a year. Exceptional service. Just before the end of the year they rewarded resellers with double the allowable space and bandwidth. Highly recommended.

Do you all answer your own support questions or just forward them to HostGator? How much time do you spend in support?

I still have an 8-5 job and want to spend my time marketing my company and not providing tech support. Ideas?

You should be prepared to give a good amount of time to support. Not trying to discourage you, but their will be some support issues. You will always have customers who want you to do everything for them, just as you have customers who will never bother you.

Not trying to ask a stupid question, but how will they know about overselling? Do they keep that close of an eye on it or does the system tell you that you are overselling and stop serving new accounts until you upgrade?

@blackhataffiliate: When creating account for customer, you just can't give more space and bandwidth than allowed, and customer can see in his cPanel how much space he has.

You can't oversell since you have to assign resources to each account you create under resellers setup and then when you use all your resources you cannot create any more accounts (they have little meters for bandwidth and disk space). Also, customer sees in his own cPanel how much resources has been given to him.
I don't know if there is a way to give unlimited resources, which would then negate this problem, and also don't know how much unlimited accounts can you make.

Yeah, I knew the customer could see how much disk/bandwidth they had, but was not sure if they metered the resources.

    Thanks for your help
