No? I do and was alive and using it during the 1980's. This was back in the day when Commodore had their first BBS and we were running 300 baud modems if we were lucky and if you had a x86 processor you were ahead of the rest of the world. Where a 100 Megabyte hard drive cost close to $500.00 and you didn't use a GUI like you do today, it was all just basically command line. The BASIC language ruled the world and where a poke command solicited much more than it does today.
I remember January 28th, 1987 utilizing the Military Email system for the first time. Of course you couldn't send attachments, but I could contact anyone in the military that was on the system. Nothing was secure at all except for a very rudimentary password that was in plaintext.
I learned Ethics (or lack there of) through a group they called "phreakers". I thought this was so cool. It lead to a lifetime obsession with the Internet. To be honest I was interested in technology much earlier than this, even starting when the citizen band radio (cb) first became a fad back in I believe 1972 or 1973 when you had to actually have a FCC license to use a CB Radio.
I don't know if I could have ever learned as much as what I have, and thanks to a very strong deep diving into the world of "Hackers", I have learned so much.
