    Hey everyone,

I've been thinking about all the methods I've seen on here and tried, and I often end up losing focus after I start, but the thing that keeps my attention longest is designing a website.

I said this to a friend and he suggested I go into freelance web design, and I'm half tempted to give it a go.

My question to you guys really, is has anyone on here actually achieved or ended up running a business based in SEO, Web development, lead generation, etc? And if you have what was your experience?

I started a business as a freight broker (purely a middleman). As long as people find my site and contact me for a quote i have a chance of making money. I put a lot of time and effort in the begining into making a site that converts and i will probably always be an SEO guy but i make the money in Freight. It's early days but i'm getting up to 5 enquires per day and make a minimum of $40 when i convert (best deal was over $600, not bad for sending a few emails).

That is how i descrbe myself, an SEO guy who makes money in Freight.

    Good luck Bro

I started in marketing before there was any internet, so I just moved existing clients over. I'm now semi- retired, I let my staff run things. I also own off line businesses. I only concentrate in and around my area, it's best to lay foundations if you are just starting

I run a pretty solid ORM and branding business. You get deep enough into both reactive and proactive reputation management, and you go beyond SEO into some strategies that hit offline, multimedia, everything. It's a pretty intense field, and I didn't know how far the rabbit hole went until I really started digging into strategies that work best for link suppression.
