Anyone Noticing Rankings Taking Much Longer Than Usual?

I have steered away from SEO for the most part but I have never had a problem ranking.

One site I have is 2 months old. All onpage is perfect. Lots of unique content.

Basically built out a lot of high quality web 2.0s and press releases and nothing spammy at all.

But, my site is still not even ranking for my brand keyword. I mean, it ranks like 4 or 5 spot. I get like 1-2 hits a day from organic which is very odd for any of my sites I have ever built.

Like I said, I am not too concerned because paid traffic makes me a lot more money than SEO ever did but it is weird when you search my brand name and it isn't even ranking for it.

There are no webmaster tools messages and all links are from high quality sites and high quality articles.

My thinking is that Google is now taking a lot longer to rank new sites as I keep thinking that one day my site will settle where it should be.

What are your guy's thoughts? I must be on hold until Google decides that I my site is worth getting the rankings it deserves?

Yea Dan Im having the same problem with some of my sites as well seems to be taking longer than I'm used too

I have 2 PR7 blog posts, 43 powered web 2.0s, 15 PR4+ homepage blog posts, and a whole bunch of nofollow fluff (bookmarks, wikis, etc) s aimed at my home page with excellent onpage SEO. The four main 2-word keywords have 1.3-1.5% keyword density, and the main one-word keyword has 2% keyword density. All the main keywords show up in alt images, meta title/description/kewyords, headings, etc, and I've gotten the page load time down to 0.8 seconds. I have 67 pages of content in a silo structure, and the silo landing pages all have about 100 assorted links. My anchors are 60% generic/url and 40% targeted keywords.

I'm targeting about a dozen keywords from low to medium competition ranging from 1900 m/s to 40k m/s, and not one keyword is above page 5 right now.

Was it a brand new domain?

I've noticed that web 2.0 properties are not getting indexed. I built a few a couple months ago, and they werent indexed in a week. I havent built any links to them at all bc i forgot about them until I read this. Just checked with scrapebox and they are still not indexed.

Have you checked if your web 2's and other links are indexed? Seems like google is not indexing a lot of stuff they used to without some force.

yeah maybe that's becuase google have been updated a about 2 weeks ago so yeah thats might be the reason + i heard somewhere that google is now ranking old site so your website and content should be 6 months old or more than this i am not sure lets wait for Seo experts comment to see what is actually going on.

I agree your links are probably on the weaker side. That being said, it's probably your domain age, which is a big factor. Try 301ing a related aged domain to your site.

Yeah I know right. All the web 2.0s and press releases are powered with 1000s of high pr backlinks so yeah, try and mock me idiot.

Anyone that actually has something constructive to say?

You said nothing spammy in your OP, but now you're saying you added thousands of tier 2 links?
