Anyone Making Constant Content Sales?

I've been writing to my niche lately so I'm not suprised that my sales slowed down. Still, I'm about to branch out again into some proven topics and hope to scout the waters out a bit. How's sales? Their recently sold page always shows around 20, but I understand that they're really selling more than that number.

Any other info you'd like to share would be cool too.

Here's a tip if you're starting out: Write on seasonal topics. It sells and it's a good place to start.

I sell on Constant-Content and sometimes pick up work on Textbroker. Don't really bother with any other sites.

The only one of those that I can answer definitively is the last one. The first two depend on several factors. Generally, if you're following content trends and write with authority you can expect a certain % of your articles to sell right away. The rest will sit. CC claims that 70% of articles that you get approved will eventually sell. This feels about right.

If you're writing niche articles you'll have to wait longer. None of my recent Forex articles have sold yet and I'm something of an expert in the field. It's just a bad time for Forex content, I guess.

I recently submitted a social media marketing article and it sold right away.


Regarding price: if you're good enough to get your content past their editors, you need to be charging at least 10 cents per word. I price a 500 word article at $49. If someone comes along who badly needs that content, they'll pay for it. It's not worth my time to price lower than that or accept offers lower than that because CC is taking 35%, which leaves me with just $30.

If you have a well-researched, well-written 1000 word article that's in an in-demand niche, feel free to charge $100 for it. It all comes down to the right person coming along to buy it anyway, so you'd be cheating yourself if you charged less.

Demand is king. The people who shop there know that CC articles cost real money.

CC can be great income if you can write 5 a day on topics that are selling. The challenge is A) working up the will to work that hard on spec, and B) getting all of those articles past their extremely strict editors.

I suggest using Scrivener to outline your articles. It's a HUGE time saver. You can find it online, but it's only $40, so support the developer if you can. It's just one guy developing it.

One thing to understand is that CC clientelle are really fickle. I recently wrote a well-researched article about how to make addictive games like Minecraft. I did a lot of research for it. I was sure it would sell because of the subject matter, but it hasn't. I just have to wait for the right person to come along. When will that be? No idea.

Start with Google Trends and learn to use a mind mapping software. Those two together will bring you some great ideas.

Are these better than iWriter? I have been writing on iWriter lately but it's paying extremely low as I am just a standard level writer yet. Also, the rejection rate is quite high. So it's quite annoying at times

Constant-Content is a different type of site. You write your own articles and name your own price.

Well a piece of advise, as a standard writer do not do any jobs for clients with lower that 75% approval rate, unless there are no jobs go as low as only 60% besides you will suffer the rejection

^This. I would say, actually, just don't write for them. They have no respect for writers. They want you to write for pennies till you've sold 30 pieces for them--unless they've changed that.

They also let writers pay them $200 to jump to the front of the line for being made a 5 star, or w/e their equivalent is. They obviously don't care about quality.

Yeah that is the problem actually. I think many are just searching for free articles on their site. And being paid $2.43 or something such is too low for a 500 word article. That is why I am looking for better alternatives. Think I should try constant-content? I doubt if my articles will go through the editing though, lol.

I have a list of sites I'd like to try to write for, including Constant Content.

In my opinion instead of writing as seasonal you can write based on GOOGLE Trends(check on google about it) and you can rank quickly on Google with it too as usually stuff on Google trend topics, Google don't have much content so Google itself needs websites with content against google trends so they can be ranked well on Search Engine.

This is what you want the webmasters who shop at Constant-Content to be thinking when they see your relevent articles. I would suggest a mix of evergreen content (very few topics are truly evergreen, but you know what I mean) and news-like content, based on trends and popular topics.

I've had articles that are based on hot topics sell within minutes of being approved by the editor.

As someone rightly mentioned, writing on on hot topics that's trending for quite sometime now is a great technique to grab eyeballs. But, we should not stick to only current topics because once the trend dies, then the content would become more or less irrelevant. You can always choose to write on topics that would last for many years to come and thus keep getting you views.

I saw on Google Trends that it is mostly about celebrities and TV shows. Do those topics sell on Constant Content?

That isn't always the case.

Even so, yeah, they do sell. Fashion always sells, if you can stand to write it. Tech sells better though.

tried a few different articles there and their editors always reject. Need to retune my writing for that site. Any online tools you use to double check grammar. I'm a college grad, but still need refreshers with semicolons, colons, commas, etc. Damn Word does it all sometimes but not always perfectly like CC wants it.

I use correctenglish.com as a safety net.

It's pricey, but good. I see that they currently have a 10 day free trial. Run your articles through it and it will tell you what your problem areas are.

CC editors are very strict, but it's worth it.

It's not all about grammar. Style is important too.
