A 2:1 degree only qualifies people for a £18K starting salary? Yikes... that's less than $10 per hour USD, and less than the legal minimum wage in many places.

Can people really afford to live in London at that salary? Rent must have come WAY down after the financial sector crashed.

My first job paid way less than that. I've lived in London for less.

£18-22k is the going rate for a new graduate in digital marketing. In dollars, it's more like $15/hour so well above minimum wage in the UK and 99% of the world.

It's annual. £18k a month salary would be around 360k USD a year...

Don't know about the less than £20k going rate, newly recruited bus drivers start at£20k :D I've seen internships that pay around those, but anything that goes over £20k is already a good starting pay.

And yeah, I have no idea how you turn £18k a month into 10$/hour? It's around £10/hour, and that is definitely not less than $10/hour. And that is already rather reasonable.

I can assure you that rents in London cost an arm and a leg e.g. a decent 1 bed flat in East London starts from 1k pm.

The job is a great opportunity for someone looking to get in this field and should be more about the experience and not money. Salary is well above minimum wage.
