Probably something to ask at fiverr or elance but is there an automated program that perhaps can make text from audio? thanks

I looked for something similar for my tutorial videos. I used the built in tool of Camtasia which sucked and some others.

In the end I just chose to transcribe it myself or get one of my VA's to do it.

    yeah that's what I thought......

Out of interest what was your experience with your VA and transcribing - would $15 do for 15 minutes - give or take?

That looks excellent - I sent a message to their support asking if it is possible to play videos (.mp4) through the software and for that to get transcribed -

Do you know if that is possible? Thanks

I would recommend dragon too but I think you still have to train it to your voice so it wouldn't work so well on an untrained voice in an audio file. You could of course just speak what is being said yourself straight into a mike into Dragon to get a transcription. Or outsource....

I would be a little bit dubious about transcript tools which claim total accuracy. VR software still seems to be really temperamental, and I personally have yet to encounter any tool that overcomes the problem of identifying accents and allowing for the difference between different people saying the same word. Particularly if you have just one sample of a specific voice, it doesn't have a chance to "train its ear". I'd settle for the limitations of the human ear, which is the best software for the job.
