I know this is a bit of a strange request, but I was wondering if anyone knows how to password protect a wordpress blog. I use to use wordpress a few months ago, but I let my host go and I've just set up an account again and I'm playing with a few ideas.

I've done some searching and it sounds like you can now put passwords on individual posts, however I'm thinking more of a password around the entire blog. Basically, I'm only wanting to allow certain people to access my blog, and if I can frequently change the list of people allowed entry, this would be a big bonus.

A wordpress plugin would be great! but I've not found a suitable one yet.

    Thanks in advance.

I had thought of that. I'd also been looking at things like this:

Would appreciate it if anyone could advise me on the best possible method though.

You can use Memberwing plugin, it's a member plugin to protect your post that can only be red by member who is already registered. Free version works well too.

you can set the privacy settings allowed by wordpress
in that only logged in users will be able to see the content
rest all will be asked to register to see the content
