I want to clone / make an image of a fresh Windows 7 installation so that in the future all I have to do is restore the backed up image. I've seen the likes of Clonezilla, DiscWizard, and True Image but not really sure how to go about it. The thing is I've got a Segate Momentus XT Hybrid SSD, and apparently I may have issues using the likes of Clonezilla.

If you just need a clone, most systems (including edu systems) use Norton Ghost.

Windows 7 has a backup built in. Start > Maintenance, make repair CD and save image to external drive. Done. If you lose the drive, boot from repair CD, restore from your backup location.

Norton sucks, always has, always will. Acronis is a good paid option but no need if just making backups to restore if hardware fails.

I use acronis true image. Very easy to use and can back up a fresh install in about 10 minutes.

Norton Ghost. Been using it in our old internet cafe. Never let me down ever since.

Will have to try Norton Ghost out. I just hate reformatting and having to install all applications, updates, transfer files after files etc... It literally can take hours to complete.

    Thanks for the information! :)
